My name is Richard A. Mueller, an investor of over a decade in minerals, property, and energy plays. It's what I know best. It's what I will discuss, here, on Seeking Alpha. Speaking of which, I've found alpha all but one year since the year 2001. When I started investing money that I had saved up from my 9-5, I didn't have the slightest clue what I was doing. Fortunately I paid for a market education (i.e. lost close to everything I had invested) early on. This taught me the importance of doing my own research and importantly that real alpha is calculated over several years, not days, hours, or minutes. Patience, in others words, is an important part of my investing strategy. My appetite for risk is high, as risk runs high in the areas I tend to invest, however, through a careful selection process I disperse this risk among stock and a few mutual funds that I feel will outperform the S&P. Going on 11 years of beating the market, with a personal best 76% return in 2009. Perhaps the tides of fortune will revisit my portfolio this year too?
