New highs continue for the major equity averages, and the Nasdaq ended last week just 2.4% below its semiannual risky level at 3583. The other major averages are well above their semiannual levels at 14,323 Dow Industrials, 1566.9 S&P 500, 5955 Dow Transports and 965.51 Russell 2000. This reflects how overbought stocks have become. As stocks move higher they become more overvalued and more overbought, particularly given the rise in the 30-Year US bond yield to 3.17% from 3.10% a week ago. The ValuEngine Valuation Warning intensified with 71.7% of all stocks overvalued and with 33.9% overvalued by 20% or more. There are no signs of a market top as equity bubbles continue to inflate.
