  • Twitter reportedly set to price IPO at $27 [View news story]
The valuation is WRONG. $27 a share values the stock at $16.9bn NOT $14.7. 544m is the basic share count. You have to take account of the options. This brings the share count up to 626m at least and possibly as high as 738m. http://bit.ly/1el1xcU

    Hi Toraji

Totally agree it has the right to do that and I am not negative on Microsoft. IN fact as an ecosystem play it is one I would look at with YHOO over Apple, Samsung, Google etc etc.

There is no way MSFT is on a winning streak with hardware (ex Xbox). The surface is a total disaster with virtually no volume shipped and an crazily huge write off last Q. RT is a horrible error that needs to be stopped now.

If you read my blog (free to subscribe) you will see that I am a big fan of the MSFT ecosystem and think that it has the most upside potential of all. as long as it can sort its message to the users out.

    HI David,
    1) I have commented many times on Google buying Android many times in my blog. I suspect the real reason why Microsoft is going into hardware because it sees the success of vertical integration as being championed by Apple and Samsung. The difference with Google's partners is that they have a choice. They can (an I suspect will) fragment the Android OS and take it off in their own direction if they want to get Google out f their faces. MSFT's long suffering OEMs don't have that luxury.

    2) Think that could easily be the case.

    3) Again totally agree. Xbox 360 is nothing short of a triumph. Although it was NOT acquired it was organic.
