Rob Romero works at Connective Capital Management, a firm investing in equities in high growth and misunderstood markets like technology and alternative energy. Before Connective, Mr. Romero studied engineering and economics at Stanford and worked in the technology industry for many years as engineer, product manager and entrepreneur/founder.
I graduated from the University of Toronto with a BComm and am now working on developing a partnering business to help get the word out on disruptive investments. I want my research to provide timely and conclusive investment ideas that intend to deliver attractive yields to investors.

I enjoy following and capitalizing on investing opportunities primarily in the tech and healthcare industry. Most of my free time is spent conducting research on small-to-mid cap equities using a combination of fundamental data analysis and technical studies to come to conclusive results. I manage some money that I invest according to the above technique to ripen my exposure to the financial world.
Previously, I spent some time working for a major commercial construction company where I was responsible for running the back office, occasionally overlooking data and logistics. Most of my time was spent in a financial controller capacity.
I write because I believe in sharing my findings and opinions with those interested so they may come to their own conclusions and in turn spark an intelligent and beneficial discussion.

I have been investing in stocks for nine years now, most of the time in my native Bulgaria. Over the past few years I focused on the REIT sector and in 2016 I started investing in precious metals companies. I had decent returns over the past years, always looking for undervalued companies and taking a medium term view of 1.5-2 years. No leverage, no short positions. I have a bachelor's degree in Finance and a Master's degree in International Business and I am a big fan of Michael Burry, Koos Jansen and Keith Neumeyer among other.
I am a physician and an Individual Investor. I try to value the endless wisdom of Jean-Marie Eveillard, Peter Cundill and Warren Buffett. I focus extensively on identifying sustainable competitive advantages, management practices and complicated business structures with difficult to value companies. I tend to concentrate on deciphering value in special situations, initial public offerings and distressed macroeconomic situations. Hence I find myself investing in emerging market equity, contrarian situations and intangible brand values.
I am gradually moving from value spotting to value creation opportunities. Simultaneously I am focusing on Small Caps with sustainable advantages to identify potential disruption opportunities. Since I only invest my personal and family finances, absolute real return with downside protection is an absolute requirement of my investment style.
I have over twenty years experience on the buy side and sell side of the street. I have been an investor in all asset classes, including private companies in the technology and healthcare / life sciences sectors.
