Executive Director of SPVInvestor Research, Inc. I am evaluating solar companies based on their operational, financial and growth factors. I can be found on our forum at http://solarpvinvestor.com My professional background is in distribution, logistics, profit and loss management within supply chain at the distribution level.
I started my financial career on the floor of the options markets in the late '70s. From 1984 until 2005 I was employed by two major investment banks, managing a variety of equity and equity derivative trading operations. I am currently a co-founder and principal in a small equity investment fund, WorldOver Capital, which concentrates on finding deep value opportunities, mainly in emerging and frontier markets.
My goal here is to learn and share ideas. In my current profession, I became an expert through trial and error, and discussions with peers. I am hoping for a similar outcome when it comes to investing. It all started in about 2008, and became increasingly more serious since 2012. I try to treat my mistakes and missteps with respect, and if I do not learn the first time - I can always repeat them! For that, I only need to avoid biting off more than I can chew.
My current non-cash positioning is ~80% in dividend/DGI stocks (conservative, income oriented), and ~20% high risk based on my visions of the future, where I let ideas and risk run rampant (solar energy, lithium miners, 3X leveraged ETFs with daily settlements, derivatives, and similar scary stuff).
Multiple careers - including computer programming and energy conservation work for non-profits. Semi-retired, still doing a little consulting.
In good shape in terms of accumulation. Moving into distribution as necessary, although other income permits us to not rely completely on investment distribution at this point. Have been gradually picking up pointers from the dividend growth folks for making income investments.
