  • Silver Wheaton's Innovative Structure Tweaks Pure Silver Profit [View article]
SLW does have less cash on hand because they have recently signed new contracts and have taken on a large amount of debt... just watch the debt is what I'd suggest...

GG is selling it for several reasons, but one of them is to take advantage of the appreciation and increase their cash on hand... it's not that they think SLW will do bad, its just GG is in a capital intensive business and it might make more sense for them to sell SLW and use that cash for their own projects...

  • Yahoo Can Grow Faster Than Google [View article]
RhinoFish, The fact that most of Yahoo's beta publishers are earning more money per click indicates that advertisers are spending more money per click on Yahoo than they do on Google (unless Google doesn't share as big a % with its publishers)... granted this is for U.S. traffic only (so we can't compare Google's international CPC rates), but YHOO is already doing billions of dollars in ad revenue online. Much of their success in creating an advertising distribution machine is tied up in Project Panama which they have been reluctant to release (which tells me they want to get it right instead of just release it as soon as possible).

  • eBay's Kijiji Move Is Yet Another Challenge to Newspapers [View article]
Something about Kijiji i don't like... i don't know if its the brand (due to the odd letters being repeated in an eye bothering fashion) or what... but I don't see it being overly successful as a brand because of name issues.

I do however like the site layout and prefer it over craigslist. It's very clean and professional looking.

  • Why Are REITs Trading at a Premium to Stocks? [View article]
REITs are all about dividend income... and many investor's are getting to the age of retirement where they need thier money to pull in regular dividends. Should these investment vehicles not become more popular as more investors retire?

Also, the large Income Trust industry in Canada is coming to an end and all that money will now be flowing to REITs in and outside of Canada.

  • Selling Yahoo and Buying Sigma [View article]
In the long term (5+ years) I'm willing to bet Yahoo will do very well. A lot of Google's revenue comes from thier publisher network. As soon as Yahoo releases their publisher network a lot of people will switch over.

Yes, the 2nd quarter might not look so good... but look out 5 or 10 years and I'm willing to bet shareholder's of Yahoo will outperform shareholder's of Sigma.
