  • Fusion Telecommunications Is Not Given Enough Credit For Its Transition [View article]
Can you please tell me how you can reconcile the level of SG&A with revenues? They are simply not sustainable under any scenario other than continued raises.

I am cheering for NWBO to be successful if only to see what kind of reaction that prompts from AF. My bet is that he will simply ignore any substantially positive developments and move on to another target. A journalist with integrity would come out and admit that they were wrong. Of course the jury is still out on NWBO but it will be very interesting to watch this play out. Does anyone know of a company that AF hit and subsequently went on to approval? What happened there. I would have a great deal more respect for AF if he actually admitted mistakes...

I would love to hear your response to the fact that Dr. Buzdar has released results at a similar stage in trials. This is the very thing for which he criticizes NWBO. I take no position on the the efficacy of the drug, just the credibility of one of its critics. Any factual thoughts on this?

The CFPB can quickly ruin very good companies. That's what a federal entity with no congressional oversight can do. I would stay away from any company that is being investigated by the CFPB as there are no limits to its power. It can levy fines and fees with absolute discretion.

George, thanks for continuing to bring interesting ideas to the community. What affect will rising interest rates have on the leverage and ultimate return to investors? I would think that rising interest rates cost the fund more on the leverage side and lower return unless the leverage is fixed through 2020?

Hmmm. Stable returns? Do you consider that drawdown to be stable enough for retired income investors? Most in the industry would think you crazy!

  • Tactical Asset Allocation Strategy For Conservative Investors [View article]
That is because your analysis is based solely on output from ETFReplay. You don't even have any way to confirm that their results are accurate as you are relying solely on their output. This is a prime example of backtesting bias. Your sub-portfolios are also subject to bias but you do not address that issue. If someone is interested in this type of back tested analysis, with no substantive predictive power, you are better off going to and creating your own strategy. This is essentially a re-marketing of someone else's work. Can you explain how etfreplay calculates the volatility, the formula used and why? Disappointing.

  • A New 8% Yielder Paying Every Month [View article]
That may be true but take a look at the size of the equity slice protecting the preferreds on the MREITs. It is a small slice indeed. Preferred holders should not take much security from there being common ahead of them. Due to the leverage, a bloodbath would wipe out the common equity very quickly and end up on the doorstep of the preferreds...

  • An 8.8% Yield Paid Every Month Since 2007 [View article]
Agreed, retired. Price does fluctuate but the yield is unbeatable and the monthly payment has never been missed. Large positions could be problematic as the daily volume is so small but it's a nice addition to a yield portfolio if correctly sized...
