Roman Chuyan, PresidentModel Capital Management LLC is a tactical investment manager. As opposed to buy-and-hold strategies that follow the market's ups and downs, tactical management adjusts the asset mix in order to reduce the market downside, but to participate in the upside. Model Capital manages assets via UMA platforms, as sub-advisor for other RIA and asset managers. We also offer our signals to advisors/managers under non-discretionary agreement.
I am 19, started investing two years ago (at 17), and I don't regret it for a second! I love doing it! I wake up every morning, look at the news, and I make my own judgments on stocks. I would say I spend a good 15 hours a week researching stocks. After this summer, I will have my associate's degree in Business from my local community college. In the Fall, I will be transferring to Virginia Tech (VT) and studying finance! The ULTIMATE goal is to become a CFA (chartered financial analyst) charter holder!
My largest positions (in order): CCUR, RIGP, WMT, BBBY, PSDV, PACD, COSI, and ONCS. (I will update when this changes)

Hello! My name is Logan Smyth. I'm 26 and currently living in Columbus, Ohio. I have been investing and following the markets for about five years now. I received a B.S. in Business with a concentration in Finance from Carnegie Mellon in 2007. I am currently working towards an MBA with a major in Investment Management at The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business.
I have interned with UBS Wealth Management in Pittsburgh and in New York City. After graduating I moved to Columbus to work for Abercrombie & Fitch. After my contract expired, I chose to leave Abercrombie and trade the markets full-time. I realized the market conditions were something I could only experience once in a century and I wanted to focus on learning as much as possible from them.
I write these articles for a variety of reasons. I like to share my thoughts on the market but I also like having a record of investments that I have recommended. I will be applying for internships at financial firms in Columbus next summer and I think a stable of articles will serve me well with my minimal professional experience. I also enjoy the discussion that follows most articles. Please feel free to comment on my articles and add your own insight. However, I ask that readers keep comments constructive as this is not professional analysis.
If you would like to read more of my thoughts on the market, I have additional articles and posts on my website, Smyth Financial (http://www.smythfinancial.com). I also use my website as a means of networking and sharing more information about myself online. Please feel free to stop by if you would like to learn more about me.
