    "finally came clean and stating he was short?" I have never, ever been short STB. If you have actually read any of our reports on STB you would clearly know that the only reason we avoid being short STB is because of its high dividend which has propped up its stock price.

    If you take everything on conference calls at face value you would be a terrible investor. Revenue growth has never been the issue with STB. Again, if you would take the time to read and debate about the issues we bring up it would be more productive.

    There are many smart analysts that have given favorable ratings to stocks that went down significantly or went bankrupt.

    PVA had 115 years of consistent dividends and investors thought the same too. They ended up suspending their dividend which means past dividend history is not a good forecast of future dividends. That's where the analysis of the financials come in. You doubling down and getting a low price is not a good investment thesis for any investor. All the arguments you propose are insufficient for the bullish cash for STB.

    Berkowitz's performance this quarter is going to be ridiculous. It is weighted 22% in one of Fairholme's funds.

    DeLisle, thank you. We agree with you. LPL is a sales machine but its investment products are relatively inferior. Also, their new start up launch of Nest Wise will be at least a .05 drag on EPS going forward and it doesn't seem to a very attractive product versus what Schaub and others are already targeting.

    mgordon10, while we have not quite come around to recommending buying Frontier yet, we may migrate there at some point. We are more comfortable with it now that when we first started analyzing it.

    We also believe that investors who short FTR do so at their own peril (as of right now anyway).

    That is why we had issued pointed criticism about it previously. We are not hard-core bulls on it, but we believe that it would be very risky to be shorting Frontier.
