    UncleFred, we know exactly how you feel. We have a locked 3GS ourselves, but we have to wait until next year before our contract is up. By that time, we expect an iPhone 6 to come out and that we can basically pick and choose which iPhone we want at that point.

    Thank you pagreen. Even if Apple doesn't release new versions of the iPhone and iPad, we still find it to be miles ahead of everyone else and that Samsung is its only real competition.

    We disagree with your thesis. The carriers earn about 70% and higher gross margin on the recurring voice and data services. That enables AT&T and Verizon to not only subsidize the smartphones, but also make 25% pre-tax operating margins.
