I disagree with the authors socialism equals stagflation implication. Part of the problem with lack of demand can be solved with socialism. Many poor families can hardly afford little things in life. If their life is improved sectors such as computing, automobiles and productivity can all be improved.
Redistribution of wealth is a great goal but bureaucracy is not. Too much wealth in too few hands eventually leads to stagnation and no growth. The hard part is how to achieve this with minimal red tape and capital flight.
