Apple miss, seems like nothing to worry about. Higher R&D costs and smaller margins. Revenue growth impressive. No repeat of PCRFY.OB chips.

    • Ashraf Eassa: $AAPL is undergoing some serious margin compression, and as the competition grows stronger, those margins will, unfortunately, get worse.

    • Ashraf Eassa: So while I believe $AAPL is still a good company, I think you're too quick to just throw $INTC, $AMD, $NVDA, etc. under the bus.

    • gwinsto: Master Che: where do you see AAPL going from here?

    • Master Che: In fact the opposite - its what breaks the camels back - AAPL miss - its the umbilical cord
      10/25/12
    • Sal Marvasti: Revenue growth is impressive. Given Amazon results hardly broke amazon, apple at P/E of 11 is not exactly positioned to collapse.
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: collapse has nothing to do with it - period - simply the markets have become dependent on AAPL - and AAPL is heading down not up -
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: take off your pink glasses - Europe is bankrupt - the recovery never recovered - AAPL without question is the greatest company ever - BUT
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: well the but requires volumes of explanation - none the less - the markets are heading down because of the AAPL miss
      10/25/12
    • Sal Marvasti: by 0.08 cents or effectively 1% miss? really?
      10/25/12
    • Ashraf Eassa: Guidance miss. They guided to a Y/Y decline in EPS. Not good.
      10/25/12
    • Sal Marvasti: thank goodness I was wise, I stayed out of apple in case it misses like google. Will be waiting for buying opportunity if it over sells.
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: are you sure 0.08 miss..the original estimate (one month ago) was 9.57 ..they watered it down - - http://bit.ly/Nz9iQD
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: three times they lowered the estimate..THEY....
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: why not short it - not so crowded like the long side - on 9/25 I called a top down to 606.93 -
      10/25/12
    • Sal Marvasti: still given the macro environment and massive miss by both Intel and AMD, (after warning) and HP and Nokia. I hope Apple oversells.
      10/25/12
    • Master Che: over-sells --don't know what that means - first potential bottom is at 566.45 - I bought the NQ's on the news at 2605.00 - just trade it
      10/25/12
    • Ashraf Eassa: $INTC didn't miss "massively". $AMD did, but it's getting its lunch eaten by $INTC.
      10/25/12
    • Sal Marvasti: Intel warned, it did not miss on its warning . hello ?
