Born and raised in the USA, graduated with a degree in Finance then worked at a multi-strategy global hedge fund for about 4 years analyzing stocks all over the world. In 2007 I left the USA and moved to China to study Chinese and start a business. Now, I am the CEO and Co-founder of eFin which provides wall street level research to main street investors via a proprietary algorithm. Our eFin scoe that takes into consideration hundreds of factors to provide the best period of time to make an investment in a stock.
Nevertheless, my experience working at the hedge fund and running my own business has improved vastly my investment making decisions. I believe Warren Buffett said it best “I am a better investor because I am a businessman and a better businessman because I am an investor”. I have had my share of busts and winners and have gotten wise enough to always look at both sides of every investment no matter how negative or optimistic the situation is.

I am an advocate of the acquisition of wisdom (the ability to recognize difference) and being a constant learning machine. We were born into this world ignorant and incoherent and this mental capacity can only be remedied by obtaining wisdom and knowledge vicariously through others or by experience. I prefer both. Modeling is a very effective mental model and overcomes the learning curve of a discipline at an escalating rate. Warren Buffett / John Maynard Keynes / Peter Lynch are the models I use. Inventing the wheel contributes to loss in opportunity costs, inadequacy of conviction in ones conclusions, lack of direction, shortage of confidence to concentrate assets (not over diversifying) and steep expensive learning curves.
Awareness does not bring success. Implementation of awareness develops results, and it is refined results persistently applied that attracts a fortune. A fortune can't be pursued it must be attracted through a definite purpose, definite plan put into continuous action, and concentration of effort that is persevered through all possible tempting distractions.
All is well because all grows better.

Far from ordinary, our roots lie on the investment side, but we have been around the startup block a few times. This helps us bring a unique perspective to markets and stocks.
We look for under-covered ideas in markets outside the U.S., while also focusing on bringing to light the short case for many loved and over hyped stocks.
