    • Davidoff: Very biased article imo. The graph marks in the same blue color "Windows" and "Others", so you can't actually see which market share WP has.
      12/12/12
    • Davidoff: The other thing is that "Windows" isn't necessary WP. Many low-end firms (were) using/use old Win versions, which aren't considered as WP.

    • turtledividend: Good points David, Asha line should also be replacing Symbian's market share in the near future. Asha / Lumia Market Disruption.

    • Eld: According to a study of my Russian acquitances, they mostly have Samsung as WP there.
      12/12/12
    • Davidoff: Eld, Never seen any Samsung WP's in EU or Russia. Don't even know where they've been commercialized. In Europe Windows has always been HTC.
      12/12/12
    • Eld: Will find figures, but Samsung has taken clear lead on Russian market
      12/12/12
    • Davidoff: Eld, yes, with Android. But I've never seen any Samsung WP's yet. I saw a presentation on the news channel, but didn't see any in stores.

    • Davidoff: Apparently, they have only one WP model, it's the exact replica of S3 running under WP instead of Android.

    • Eld: Actually WP went down from Q2 2012 (5.5%) to 5.1%. I think Samsung is the winner in WP coz HTC and NOK market shares are shrinking
      12/12/12
    • Eld: But hard to say if NOK is gaining traction coz there is Symbian in the figures.. for sure HTC is shrinking significantly since 2011.

    • Eld: @ Davidoff: I got the figures finally :) Samsung Omnia M is the winner in WP in Q3, no NOK and no HTC listed. Rest is full of Androids :s

    • Davidoff: Nokia's marketing was extremely poor regarding 900. They were barely saying don't buy them, beta versions, next ones are going to be better.
      12/12/12
    • Davidoff: I don't think that 920 is going to be a game changer even though it's a great phone. I'm looking forward for the rumored 1020 to be settled

    • Leont68: according to this (idc) research firm Nokia still beats samsung in russia in terms of marketshare http://bit.ly/ZhUvhe in general
      12/12/12
    • Leont68: mostly symbian phones though

    • Davidoff: Leon, The report is dated of 26th Feb 2012 while Eld was talking about Q3 2012. I guess things changed since NOK closed its stores in Russia
      12/12/12
    • Davidoff: They had dozens of huge gorgeous Nokia Stores since the nineties in the biggest Russian cities. They closed them all this year to save cash.
