Shane Lofgren

I have spent more than a year building Bridgetown Financial Group with my partner Jim Trosen, and I am incredibly proud of the work that we have done.

We have grown our client base and assets under management more than 100% from when we started. We have retained all of our clients through a very difficult market downturn. During that downturn, we kept our heads and did not make any emotional decisions. As a result, nearly all of our clients are in better financial shape than when they started with us.

I personally have grown in my ability to understand the stock market and economy and turn that understanding into portfolios of bonds, stocks, and options. I have spent time with clients and have a better ...More sense of how to give them a peace of mind about their financial future. I have gained significant skill in using software, such as R, to gain a quantitative understanding of the market and of potential companies. And I have designed processes that make Jim and my work easier.

I’ve also continued to teach myself every day. I study history, math, economics, and am working especially on the skills of econometrics, forecasting, and machine learning. I don’t ever plan to stop teaching myself new skills and new theories on the world.

My goals for the near future are to continue building Bridgetown and to continue learning more every day.

My ultimate goal is to make large-scale positive change in the world and to acquire the connections, money and skills that will allow me to do so.
