Is a Google Brain Drain Inevitable? [View article]
LinkedIn now has enough data to get a good representation of employee movement (specially in silicon valley & IT sector). So I looked at how many linkedin users had Google in their past employer (but not current employer) and it lists about 200+ employees. It sounds a lot, but on closer examination most of these people were either student interns or recruiters. Only 10% appear to be engineers or senior executives. Some landed in yahoo, some in startups or started their own company or became investors.
So, Though I believe the brain drain in inevitable, but the data doesn't show that it is happening right now in a significant way.
