Your report is excellent. No doubt that this is going to be just like the next cell phone or the next apple. How long will it take? That doesn't matter since this is just a multi bagger from here on. And as Peter Lynch puts it, you need only one or two in your portfolio to really change your life.

  • Helmerich & Payne: Long-Term Buy [View article]
Thanks Alan! Yes, still in college and not legally permitted to invest in the markets!

The expected time frame is 4 years. Here is how I got 6.69 as the target EPS.
Current EPS x Sustainable growth rate^4.
    So, 3.99x(1.138)^4 = 6.69.

    Current Price = 43.
    Target Price = 93.
    Time frame = 4 years.
    CAGR = 21%.

  • Linn Energy Is A Buy Below $40 [View article]
Can you please explain the following contradiction:

Linn Energy is hedged 100% through 2017. They are also hedged in oil 100% until 2016....

    same paragraph last line:
From 2013 to 2017 the average percent of puts for natural gas is 38.4%. From 2013 to 2016 the average percent of puts for oil is less at 22.75%.

    What exactly do you mean?

  • The Hidden Truth Behind IBM's Stellar Return On Equity And Estimating Its Intrinsic Value [View article]
Yes, I calculated that the average price for the stock bought by the company in 2011 was $173.
Here is how I did it,
(Value of holding at end of 2011 - Value of holding at the beginning of 2011) / (Number of shares held at the end of 2011 - Number of shares held at the beginning of 2011)

I got all this data because I have access to Bloomberg. But I guess you would get it from their 10K too.

  • Discounted Cash Flow Analysis: Microsoft Is A Buy In All Scenarios [View article]
When I wrote "Microsoft Is A Buy In All Scenarios", I mean the scenarios that I have addressed in my analysis. One can build a thousand scenarios of one's choice but will that help to arrive at an estimated price?

  • This Oil Stock Bargain Has Takeover Potential And It Trades Below Book Value [View article]
Cherry picking one single quarter among several quarters when Nabors has reported a loss.
What do you have to say about its declining rig fleet which is aging?
It had 600 Rigs in 2006, now has 500.
What do you have to say about rig utilization?
Great to have so many rigs but the utilization rates are just 70%.
It cannot invest because its resources are tied up in its exploration detour.
    A much fair analysis:

And I have heard reports, though haven't been able to verify it, of companies revamping their assembly lines and including 3D printers in it. Why assemble products when you can directly print them!

  • Groupon - Why You Should Sell The 100% Rally [View article]
Deja Vu - This issue of reporting gross revenue instead of net revenue had affected groupon earlier too. They were made to restate their revenues at the time of the IPO. I am not sure how they are reporting revenues now, but if what you say is true then they are going to get it from the SEC once again. Lets just wait and watch.

  • Is Infosys Technologies Losing Its Charm? [View article]
    Optifan,
You are clearly taking a shot in the dark here. Infosys is one India's most respected name and the integrity of the management is beyond doubt. What is wrong with a company growing at 25% and making 25% in net income and having a PE of 13?
A lot of major Indian companies have moved up the value chain it terms of the work that they do. They do not compete only on price any more, but the quality of service is also a major criteria for a client. These companies are competing head to head with the likes of IBM and Accenture which is a better business strategy than to wipe them out.

Thank you for explaining what a PUT and a SWAP is!
If you had written it explicitly in the article itself that the company is hedged 100% through "Puts and Swaps" then this question would not have been asked. You did not mention anything about swaps in the article.
