Look Exxon is a great buy at its current price. I think if you invest in it as warren would you will be rewarded over a 5 to 10 period of time. I expect shale to peak at around 5 years and gradually fade. hopefully exxon can create a new large revenue stream by then.

reliable rumors are surfacing that sprint is in serious talks with clwr about acquiring the remaining 49% for $3/ share! YIKES!!! Anything less than $15/ share is a joke. I'll take 3 shares of new sprint/softbank company with a guarantee of $5.50 per share minimum. I'm counting on clwr board and large shareholders to fight hard and not let sprint steal clwr.

I like Yahoo. I just want to see senior management focus on future revenues by attacking search and mobile more aggressively.

    charliezap,

HAAAAA!! You must work for an environmental organization. Be that as it may, let's address your concerns about my article on xom. first point about my using exxon gas station is irrelevant from an investment point. xto purchase is looking pretty cheap now that shale is a proven method. fracking concern is a valid concern from an investment view. once you understand you see its a manageable risk. exxon doubled its refineries profits and is exxpanding its refinery business in us. if you go to tax link at nerdwallet.com you will find that if you enter a stock symbol it will give you the actual amount of tax they paid. from an investors perspective a company paying such a low tax rate is nice. I provide links to xom financials for those that need eps, pe, etc... we are limited in length of articles and are limited to what are articles main premise is. my article is about applying warren inevitables methodilogy to exxon. now go back to hugging yogi and boo boo and playing hop scotch with ranger smith. :)

    threeleaves,

warren missed the shale boom. at the time of xto purchase only Exxon even partly understood the impact shale would have on gas prices. exxon and others are temporarily shutting down wells until gas glut eases in us. warren is not perfect, no one is. His inevitable principle fits Exxon especially now the shale business is a proven method. xto purchase was announced in dec of 2009. Warren like others at the time did not understand shale. had warren bought heavy in early to mid 2010 he would have been buying Exxon in low 60's to high 50's. and would have seen his dividend increase steadily and with a stready stock price rise. that is a classic inevitable. :)

    uncle pie,

do a 10 year price/dividend chart for ko and you will see a steady dividend increase. the problem with ry, anzby and nvo is that they are foreign and currency and or monetary policy greatly affects your investment. The warren inevitables model looks for US global conglomerates with low risk, steady increasing dividends from new revenue sources. at the moment canada, aussie dollars are up against us dollar when it goes south your investment takes a beating. Same with NVO. these are not warren inevitables although they are good stocks to own for those that understand currency and monetary policy.

    nstollon,

thanks for checking computershare yearly amounts.
a true warren inevitable has revenue consistingly increasing but never to the point that it spikes the stock price. This is because of its mammoth size. The company then is forced to either increase dividends or share buybacks on a regular basis. See 10 year dividend/price chart above. It really is a novel way to invest. Hard to uncover these inevitables. In 2 years the stock will not have moved much but the dividends and or buybacks will keep the stock steady while making shareholders, especially large ones wealthier.

    geologist,

I put that comment because NY state was up in arms about fracking near a nuclear power plant about a year ago. I think NY nixed the idea before it got too far. In California the concern has been that fracking near a fault line could cause an earth quake.
I'm not an expert I just read what experts on both sides say and use their knowledge to make investments versus gambles on my stock picks.

    jbzw,

Warren is the same way with 70% in just 4 stocks. This method only works on inevitables. I would have some long puts just to be safe. Fracking on land according to study seems to have a pretty low
    damage rate.
