  • Marijuana Accessories Are Gaining Even More Mass Appeal

In the private sector there are hundreds of cheap, plastic, glass, or even metal accessories that give marijuana users the ability to store, grind, and use marijuana bud, waxes, and shatter. But something very interesting is happening in the space that has many starting to pay much more attention to the "supporting cast" of the medical and recreational marijuana industry; specifically the accessories.

Just recently on CNBC's Power Pitch, potpreneur Josh Gordan pitched his budding marijuana start-up to a panel of experts in just 60 seconds. The company, Bureau, has set a goal to offer appropriate packaging for the B2B MJ marketplace and looks to supply a direct to consumer line of products with packaging that holds more of a resemblance to "fine spirits". Bureau's products are concentrated on functionality both from a childproofing standpoint as well as the overall user experience. "We're focused on more of the premium market…I think that there is a lack of packaging solutions for dispensaries that are trying to position themselves as a more premium dispensary so we hope to land that market share," states Gordan.

He had initially started the company with a $60k investment to obtain a proof of concept. Since then the company has focused on raising additional funds to increase inventory and implement an aggressive sales and marketing budget through angel investment.

In line with this approach, the Bob Marley family announced that it will be launching its own branded line of accessories, proprietary strains, as well as hemp- and cannabis-infused topical products. BUT once again this is a private company, which has been privately invested in by Privateer Holdings. With such a major birth in a new and exciting niche, how can investors benefit if all of these companies are looking solely for angel investment? Well, you could buy into some vapor companies or invest into an "experience" company (bus tours, bed and breakfasts, etc.) or you could simply just…invest in accessories.

Acology Inc (OTCQB:ACOL) through its patented air tight, water resistant, smell proof medical grade polypropylene storage container with built in grinder or more simply known as the MedTainer, is the "grinding man's" grinder. It's stood the test of rigorous trials and has even solidified itself as a leading product within the category. In a trial run against other well-known grinding products, gave an outstanding review on the dynamic differences that the Medtainer holds above others in its class:

"The Med+ainer grinder is one of the most affordable heavy duty products in the grinding market. We found the Medtainer will grind your meds into a great sized mulch for any joint, blunt, pipe or herb vaporizer. It loves dry herb, the teeth do a great job. The resulting Med+ainer grinds are some of the best ever."

There are few options outside of investing in grow facilities, dispensaries holding companies, etc., but there's been no real way to take advantage of the accessories that go along with all of it...until now. ACOL's product is specifically built for the medical community that just so happens to have an application in the Marijuana world.

The product can be found in more than 100 stores across the US and even in Guam. Medtainer has also been featured in major cannabis publications including 1000Watts, HotBox Magazine, Cannabis Now, Green Leaf, Hot Breath, Cannabis Culture Magazine, Skunk, Nuggetry Magazine, and even the Weed Street Journal. In addition to this, celebrities like Asher Roth and B-Real from Cypress Hill have been seen using the Medtainer…and don't forget about the premium placement this product has just gotten at the AMA's.

With the world focused on retail shopping and holiday spending, product driven companies have massive opportunities to benefit. Furthermore, this is the first holiday season that has legalized marijuana products on the wish list. The MedTainer is not only a great addition to any collection of MJ accessories but based on the current landscape in the public sector, ACOL seems to be one of the very few PubCo's focused on building on the increasingly popular accessories segment of this market.

  • Oil Continues To Slide But These Stocks May Be Ready To Catch A Rebound

Oil prices have plunged to 4-year lows but there may be hope in the short term for oil and gas stocks. As a recent article from the Wall St. Journal cites, "frenzied buying and selling on Monday saw prices plunge to multiyear lows and then rebound." This morning, prices remain volatile with Brent dropping below $72 a barrel and ICE Futures Europe saw January deliver down $0.52 at $72.01. Overall, oil prices are down about 35% from the peak in mid-June.

Despite these record lows, many analysts including myself believe that there will still be hope for oil and gas related stocks. Even after this heavy selling subsides, the market will need a correction and positive momentum from "buying at the lows" should see oil rise so a happy medium. Though it probably won't go back to $100 per barrel any time soon simply due to the global surplus and increased inventories, shrewd investors no doubt will be looking for these exact bottom levels in order to take advantage of undervalued share prices before the market correction.

OriginOil, Inc (OTCQB:OOIL) is an oil and gas related company through its patented EWS frack water remediation system. During the quarter not only was the Company granted an international patent in China for its technology but OriginOil's EWS has recently caught the attention of AlJazeera America and was featured on the series TechKnow.

Recently the stock price for OOIL has fallen victim to that of the Oil market as a whole. Following a strong start last week, prices slumped to 52-week lows during Monday's trading session. As with many related stocks, speculators are looking for bottom "bargains" and for OOIL, a 52-week low could be "just what the doctor ordered and places this small cap at the top of today's watchlist.

Halliburton Co. (NYSE:HAL) has also fallen victim to the recent slump. During Monday's trading session, the stock dropped to levels it hasn't seen since the summer of 2013. Recently the Company announced its acquisition of Baker Hughes (NYSE: BHI) in a stock and cash deal valued at $34.6 Billion. Several analysts believe this deal will go through based on several key factors including management approval on both sides, Halliburton is taking on anti-trust risk in accepting to pay a breakup fee of $3.5B, and the cost synergies valued at $2B could create significant operating margins for the combined company.

Technip SA (OTCQX:TKPPY) was recently awarded an important subse contract by Statoil at the Gullfaks Field in Norway. The Gullfaks Rimfaksdalen (GRD) Marine OperationsPipelay and Subsea Installation project consists of a subsea tie-back to a new Wye piece on an existing pipeline close to the Gullfaks A platform. The GRD template will be located 190 kilometers Northwest of Bergen, Norway.

Despite these latest developments, Technip stock has slipped to all time lows as of the Post Black Friday week. During trading on Monday, the stock plunged to lows of $16.21 but remained thinly traded. This foreign stock trades on the Paris exchange under the symbol TEC.PA.

So as the market pulls back, investors in oil and gas may be able to find some incredible bargains and potentially low entry points amidst the recent slump in Oil and Gas. In my opinion, the lows are only bad if you were in at a higher price so for me, this drop is open season for new investment opportunities.

  • OriginOil Growth Model Begins To Take Shape On A Global Scale

With major developments on the horizon and massive notoriety brought on by a global media blitz, I believe OriginOil (OTCQB:OOIL) will be one company to continue to follow as countries work to develop more sustainable solutions for large scale environmental issues.

A Brief Update On The Company

OriginOil is the developer of Electro Water Separation™ (EWS), the high-speed, chemical-free process to clean up large quantities of water. Sound simple right? The company has perfected the art of building a system that is completely scalable and can basically be installed on site and most facilities that handle anything from waste water treatment to hydraulic fracturing (fracking). EWS works in three parts:

    1. Electro-Coagulation: contaminated water enters the first stage, which is a proprietary electro-coagulation process. In this stage, mild electrical impulses are applied in long tubes, causing the organic contaminants to coagulate, or "clump" together.

    2. Electro-Oxidation: oxidizing agents are created that disinfects bacteria, oxidizes soluble ions and breaks molecular chain of dissolved organics.

    3. Electro-Flotation: the clumped-up material travels into a second stage where low power electrical pulses generate a cloud of micro-bubbles that gently lifts the concentrate to the surface for harvesting.

The harvested concentrate can be made up of chemical waste, valuable petroleum, or useful algae feedstock.

    What Has OOIL Done?

Over the last year or so OriginOil has been developing its technology into a demonstrable and scalable model that it has showcased mainly to its "low hanging fruit" in the oil and gas space. The company successfully proved that the technology could remove solids and other waste byproducts up to 99.5%.

Since hosting demonstrations in Colorado and Texas, OriginOil has taken off. Not only has the company closed on a licensing deal with Industrial Systems who has turned around and sold 4 systems to a company in Trinidad and Tobago, but Origin has also closed a deal with Oman's Gulf Energy for a 7 figure commercial order of its CLEAN-FRAC 5000 system, designed to process five thousand barrels per day (bpd), for the company's growing oil services business. This was all in a matter of months…

    What's Next?

Beyond the two major sales events, Origin has been gaining incredible attention on a global scale. In October, OOIL announced that it has received its third international patent for its core technology from the China Patent Office. The invention, titled "Systems, apparatus and methods of obtaining intracellular products and cellular mass and debris from algae and derivative products and process of use thereof," was previously issued as patent number 5284536 in Japan (see image) and previously issued as patent 2010239380 in Australia (see image). The application has also been published by the European Patent Office (EPO) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

And if that wasn't enough, OOIL's technology has just recently caught major media attention. Earlier in November the Company was featured in an exclusive on AlJazeera America's series TechKnow, which highlighted OriginOil's massive market opportunity in water remediation especially for fracking applications. In the episode, CEO Riggs Eckelberry states that "The beauty of the OriginOil system is 3-fold. Of course, the top reason is recycling the water, especially with this increasingly precious resource. Secondly, if it turns out that the fracking process is the cause of the recent swarm of earthquakes, the process could help calm the core of the earth. But the reason that could convince the gas industry to embrace the system is financial. OriginOil's tanks are small enough and mobile enough to install right at the frack site."

In essence, OriginOil has a long term vision for its EWS technology that goes far beyond simple fracking applications. The hope is to one day be able to reuse this water for farming applications and to be able to effectively expand the technology to other uses like algae harvesting and waste water treatment. For now, I think that this is one small cap to take notice of especially after having seen the increased attention that has followed the Company's worldwide media debut.
