I would buy both. The Solar industry is still young and extremely dynamic. Rapid technological and industry changes can lead to bankruptcy of even the best companies ( Q-Cells and Solyndra).

  • As Expected Jinko Solar Hits The Ball Out Of The Park Once Again [View article]
The Chinese solar companies have always been patronized by the Chinese Government in the form of financial aid and subsidies. However due to their superior quality of products, they found large markets internationally. The foreign markets to protect their domestic manufacturers, started imposing duties on these Chinese products as they were relatively cheaper than the US panels. Yes it makes the end user suffer more as they end up paying more for products.

Thanks for the comment George, JKS is indeed a very good solar stock - vertically integrated, low cost producer of panels. It has successfully built a brand name today. It is highly undervalued, given the true potential of the company. As i mentioned above, i think the stock will surpass its 52 week high price in the medium term given its strong performance.

  • Cloud Peak Energy - Why You Should Pick This Coal Stock [View article]
Yes Coal suffers competition from natural gas, but the demand from emerging economies will not let coal die off completely. The developing economies have increased usage of coal in industries and for their power. CLD is amongst the best managed coal stocks in the US producing low sulfur coal, which is the need of the hour today. Plus CLD's net income last year, makes me more bullish about the stock.

Why is 20 P/E outlandish when companies can grow earnings at around 15-20%. Competition in solar industry is reducing in my view and the market leaders have an edge.
