Step 1 will be share buybacks.....kinda like a dividend if you think about it.
Dividends with this equity are a ways off IMO

Thank you for the post and entering some rational thoughts into the equation. I think that there are many ARNA investors that simply feel beat up from constant attacks and comparisons. If people took time to read what I am saying I do not see how they can think that I am short, bearish, or anything other than realistically positive

conversations happen every day. That is true with almost any company. I simply see the timing of a buyout now as unlikely. If it happened prior to FDA approval that would make sense. At this point the most likely suitor will be able to participate in the growth anyway. Makes more sense to see and feel real numbers now. Just my opinion

Understood about the approval. Yes, it is exciting.
It is simply my opinion that if a buyout was going to happen it would have happened prior to FDA approval. When that did not happen, the next place that makes sense to me is after the initial results from sales are delivered and a real measure can be placed on the value a buyout would need to happen at. This protects both Arena and a potential buyer

1. I am not long VVUS and outlined why here:

2. I believe both companies can do well:

3. I am not very big on shorting stocks, though from time to time I will. I seek out value and potential and am not adverse to setting up a core position and then trading ranges with additional shares

However, even within current valuation ranges there are better times to buy and sell.
When the multiple is at 15 it is a great time for a believer in the potential as well as a trader to buy. When the multiple gets above 20 the investor that believes in the potential will hold and an active trader will sell.
Where many lose sight is that the market is made up of people that are looking at this equity for the first time. They want to identify the best possible entry point. Longs can get frustrated when those discussions happen.

I am not short, nor bitter. I am a realist. I do not see buyouts happening until Belviq has hit market and there is real data to evaluate a buyout price. Just my opinion, and I have stated it. It does not make me a basher, nor does it change my outlook on what Belviq can deliver to this company

You can believe whatever you would like to believe. I am long the stock. Do you really think that I would risk going to jail by stating that I am long and publishing articles when if was was not. Sorry, my investment in ARNA or any other equity is not worth going to jail over.

Having seen your posting history, I think you are yet another person who truly misidentifies things.
Do you agree or disagree that trading at a multiple above 21 is at the high end of the valuation scale for this equity in its current (not potential) state?
Understand current value and recognizing that the equity trades at a premium does not make someone a bear.
You might love mercedes and feel that as a car it is vastly underrated even though ratings on the car are high. That does not mean that people will buy your mercedes for $85,000 when they can get one at a dealer for $65,000. Is the guy that sees more value in buying it at $65,000 a bear on mercedes?

This equity has ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAY ALWAYS traded above "fair value".
I don't mean to come off rude, but you REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY need to understand the distinct difference between fair value and potential value

share count, share count....share count.
