Does Sirius XM On-Demand Level The Playing Field Or Redefine It? [View article]
True On-Demand is the ability to listen to what you want when you want.

1. I am not a day trader. In fact I rarely trade stocks.
2. I do not care whether or not Spotify makes money. I am not invested in them. Whether or not they make money is not material. What is material is that they are a competitor.
3. Spotify went from 3 million subs paying $10 per month to 4 million in 6 months. They are growing in the category of paying subscriber. Pandora is not moving as fast. Clearly it is something more than commercials that drive this bus. It is mobile ability and content

Good one....
It is simply unbelievable that people see connections between SiriusXM and AT&T when there are none there.
It is as if people as desperate to have it!

I am a developer. At one time I wanted to develop a piece of commercial land. A residential neighborhood blocked every sale of this land. When we bought it, they tried again. We worked with the owner to threaten a lawsuit gist the town and the residential group based on the fact that they had both blocked every entity. They backed down because they had to. The town and the group would have lost the suit because the land was commercial and they were making it to difficult for the owner to garner he true glue or his land. This is the stage the owners of the wcs spectrum were in. The buffer was AT&T saying that they would place the buffer on their side of the spectrum band. there is nothing beyond that. That s all there is to this. I will stake my writing about Sirius xm on that.

Again....read. It will take several hours, but anyone that does will understand. Sirius xm wanted a buffer and got it. AT&T had interest in the spectrum or 4g and they now have that. It is really that plain and that simple. I really suggest the you go back nd read all of the wcs issues. 2002 is a good place to start.

Please go back for the last decade and read up on the wcs spectrum. It was getting to the point where wcs was going to claim billions in damages because Sirius xm threw up road block after road block on "interference" with the satellite spectrum. There is no deal beyond an agreement to put a buffer in place. If the AT&T deal fell through, it could have cost Sirius xm tons in legal fees to defend an almost indefensible position. Sirius xm wanted a buffer and got it. That is the extent of the deal. Anyone putting more into it than that is a massive fool

If you follow the issue back brought all of the filings you will know exactly what happened. It is all there in the various filings. Sirius xm has been throwing roadblocks up for years claiming interference. At&t simply has put a buffer on a small percentage of the spectrum to allow it to use the rest. There is no speculation here.
I have been following the wcs issue for years now. At one point xm even proposed to buy it. That did not work out, but stalled actions for a while. It was getting to the point where the owners of the spectrum were making filings saying Sirius xm was interfering with their ability to use the spectrum at all.
This deal is nothing more than two neighbors agreeing on what the fence between their property looks like. There is nothing deeper than that

Sirius xm did not have to agree, but agreeing was the best thing they could have done as long as there is no interference. As I said, the wcs spectrum has been an issue for a decade, and the subject of lawsuits and extensive fi.ngs with the FCC.
The extent of the deal is just what has been agreed to. That is it.

There is no Siri and AT&T relationship. The only thing these companies have done together was agree that they would not interfere with each others spectrum, as it sits right next to each other. That is the extent of the relationship. It is like two neighbors agreeing on a fence to divide their property

Every ford, and Chrysler product equipped with a satellite radio and sold into a fleet supplies a subscriber. The same is true for BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo, Mitsubishi, land rover, mini, and jaguar. Every single one of those go to the subscriber number.....each and every one.
All satellite radio equipped cars sold to hertz are subscriptions. The same is true for any rental company that charges for satellite.
Employees that buy cars are fleet sales. The list goes on and on.
You might be surprised at just how many counted subscribers are made up of fleet sales

There is a bit of a misconception out there when it comes to Fleet sales and Satellite radio. Fleet sales do indeed supply subscribers.

Nino just loves to grind his axe with me.
The fact that Toyota and Honda were up was totally expected. The reason we saw the headlines we did is because Ford and GM's dips were more substantial than anyone expected
