"Royalty income should be getting added directly to bottom line." Based upon this comment alone ... it is readily apparent that you don't understand some basic financial concepts. Royalty income is simply revenues with 100% margins. More important, royalty income is taxable, which means is doesn't get added directly to the bottom line.
My suggestion to you is to stick with index funds .... if you cannot figure out an income statement, then you should be staying away from individual stocks.
