Agreed Ohad. What do you think of the clinical benefit of the bone scans and where Cabo fits into the treatment paradigm for prostate cancer? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated! Steven

I know it has been everyone's favorite game to trash EXEL, but I happen to think Cabo is a good asset. However, the market cap of the company is already pretty high, and for the past 10 years management has diluted and diluted, which is why the share price really hasn't gone up...

Per the recently filed 10q, it has not yet been restarted, but:
"We have manufactured the additional drug substance required to complete the trials, and have completed the fill/finish process with an alternate contractor. We believe we will be prepared to resume dosing patients in the third quarter of 2012, subject to receipt of FDA approval."

Nice job guys, I have been following the story of ZIOP for a while. Still though, the deal with Kirk and Intrexon is a bit of a head scratcher. What do you guys think of it?
Arena, Orexigen And Vivus: Obesity Sector Overview - Part 2 [View article]
Thanks for all the comments. This is one of the more interesting areas especially for pricing and reimbursement. I don't think anyone really knows how this will shake out, and I just sought to provide a beginning point for discussion and valuation. Feel free to suggest other models and numbers.
As for pricing, we know this will be cash pay initially and I doubt lots of insurers will get on board, so the price cannot be too high. We also know that other obesity drugs have not done well, and their efficacy is similar to some of these new launches.
I do not think the clinical trial dropout rates are irrelevant either, but a possible predictor of penetration - it's hard to achieve blockbuster status when people don't renew prescriptions.
Disclosure - no ownership in any of the stocks mentioned above.

I agree the huntington's is a tough indication. I haven't found any information on the characteristics of patients enrolled, because I agree; that could be very important!
Good series of articles. Looks like insider/VC participation is still high, making it almost more of another venture round rather than a true IPO. I see this trend continuing unless investors really start making money and getting excited about biotech IPOs...
From the PR - "The alliance builds on the existing development and marketing agreement between the two companies announced in 2010 and combines iBio's innovative plant-based vaccine manufacturing platform, iBioLaunchâ„¢, with GE Healthcare's world-class capabilities in start-to-finish technologies for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. 60 MM in peak sales with 250k per patient implies 240 patients. That's pretty low penetration compared to Raptor's numbers. Any reason for this? I sort of believe that patient penetration will be higher and the price will be lower, but that's just a WAG on my part.
