Paul: Thanks for your comment pointing out the error in my posting about Hitachi's forthcoming 2-3 terabyte HDD DVD component (not HDD HD-DVD). SeekingAlpha readers, please also note that the current 1TB capacity component by Hitachi (DV-DH1000D) is not HD-DVD and instead should have been referred to as HDD DVD. However, Toshiba's RD-A1 which was due to launch on the 14th but has been postponed is in fact an HDD HD-DVD component.

I found out from researching the Japanese business press that Sony (SNE) held the number 10 spot in 2004 and subsequently fell out of the top 10 in 2005. IBM has been first for the past thirteen-years. Samsung has moved up from number nine in 2003, to number six in 2004 and number five in '05.
