  • Beaten Down Since Its IPO, EP Energy Can Still Make A Comeback [View article]
EPE has most of oil production in 2015 hedged at $91.19.
Even at this oil price, if entire discretionary cash flow is used for reduced capital expenditure in 2015, when do you think EPE will have free cash flow?
Only when oil price goes above $92?
If that is the case, EPE appears to be a high cost producer.

  • SandRidge Energy: What Happens Once The Cash Pile Runs Out? [View article]
    Jon,

I agree with your comment. SD has excellent hedges in 2015 and is able to produce almost same amount of oil in 2015 as in 2014 with 56% reduction in capex. If needed, SD can further reduce capex and production. Then, hedges should cover greater percentage of production.
Looking at headline, bullet points in summary and difference in tone in body of article makes me think this article is highly motivated.

    SII,

I agree with your concept of calculating future market cap based on growth potential. Can you please explain me how you came up $12B with 60% growth rate in next 4 years considering revenue in 2014 is about $250 million?

    Thanks Richard.

Do you think highly leveraged players such as SD and EXXI will survive this downturn if they produce oil only from existing wells and not invest in new wells?

    Richard,

If companies with high leverage such as SD and EXXI do not invest in new wells and just drill from existing wells during low oil prices, do you think they will survive this downturn in oil industry?
