Optionhouse is far cheaper (15 cents per contract) and has very good platform and excellent customer service.
I am not sure why people would go with IB when such choices are available.
    Am I missing something?

    Chris,

    Thanks for very informative article.

Do you think this is a good time to buy stocks such as AGU and CF who are not that much exposed to Potash?

Why are companies that are not exposed to Potash that much such as AGU an CF are also going down?

    MLB76

    I can not agree more.

I noticed AMZN is facing significant headwinds in every business in which it operates.

    1. Retail- More states imposing sales tax, Price matching by competitors such as BBY, TGT etc.

    2. Kindle- Apple, Samsung, Google with more popular and feature rich products.

    3. Streaming- Netflix has advantage of more paying subscribers and hence can pay more for content and still make money. AMZN does not generate revenue directly from streaming as this is free for AMZN prime members.

    4. Third party sales- Ebay recently reduced the commission on third party sales and removed listing fee. If Alibaba comes to US, then this adds to competition as they do not charge commission on third party sales in China currently.

    5. Cloud-MLB76 explained competition very well. Recent steep decrease in prices for this service by AMZN is a very clear indication of the competition.

As you explained, Analysts keep lowering their earnings estimate and when AMZN does not even meet those lowered estimates, Analysts rise price targets.

One Analyst was mentioning was mentioning that Jeff Bezos is a great CEO and that is the reason to invest in this company.

Now, with Analysts backing the stock like this, what do you think can be the trigger for reality to set in on this stock?

    This is only an example.

Price matching at Best Buy is not limited time.

Best Buy has other advantages such as physical touch and feel, look at features, talk to person before you buy as well ease of return.

In this environment, AMZN can only cut prices further to increase to revenue which should increase losses in future.

Coming to Third party sales, eBay does not charge merchants.

AMZN also changes price of same item several times in a month time.

I do not think there is brand loyalty for online purchases, If I want to buy an item, I try to find best price and go with it.

Recently, I found Nook cover far cheaper in eBay. So, I bought from eBay and not from AMZN.

So, I do not think AMZN has same competitive advantages Costco has, for example.
