  • Westport Catalysts Remain Too Far Away For Investors [View article]
Clearly it impacts the demand equation, but that would happen gradually over time. The issue with WPRT was a sudden 30% YoY drop in September. Maybe it was related to the fiscal cliff though I seriously doubt a management team would actually delay decisions based on a govt move that will happen sooner or later.

Great point, but i don't get any indication that the slowdown in engine sales in Sept was related to intermodal competition.

Why did you chose to ignore that FB is already being replaced by Instagram and Twitter? Sure it bought Instagram, but that just highlights how easily the service can be replaced.

    Facebook traffic is already declining.

Sideways but heading to the top of the range. The biggest concern is the moving averages are turning bullish.

  • Shares of Sears Holdings (SHLD -13.4%) fall hard after the retailer's Q3 report doesn't give forward-looking investors much to latch onto. Author Lawrence McDonald's take on Sears summarizes the general vibe of traders: "Thank god for that real estate. That makes 23 straight quarters of negative sales growth at Sears Holdings." [View news story]
Everybody knew that so what is the stock down? Lawrence doesn't provide much alpha. lol

Technically the stock looks ready to run. Higher lows and the 20ema ready to cross the 50ema are signs that the next move might be up.

On a fundamental basis the stock is a major short, but no point in fighting at this point.

The important issue has switched to the safety of employees and manufacturing facilities. Not to mention whether employees have been called up for the reservists.

Without an associate involved, the margins would be higher. Could charge less and probably make the same profits.

That sounds like an ideal solution. The last time I did a gas-exchange at Lowe's it was a nightmare.

Anything where the consumer can handle the exchange would be ideal especially when your dealing with low end retailers and 24 hour stores that lack the quality/consistent employees.

Yeah, had a little twitter exchange with Stephanie Link and Dan Dicker last night. Both suggested selling WFT, though the tax issues are just about resolved.

Ironically the company reported strong operational results, but this market hates any uncertainty on a stock. Sell first and ask questions later.

$1.30 will be tough if the ETR remains at 34% for 2013 as projected.

If the company gets the numbers updated by the end of November, I would expect a strong increase in earnings going forward. Also expect the industry to do better as nat gas is now at 3.70.

Isn't accurate to say VELT guided below expectations for Q4. Adjusted for the divesture, guidance was exactly inline. In fact, EBITDA was guided up.
