Telecom Outlook: Exodus from WiMAX Continues
[View article]
agree the exodus is from equipment makers and not so much customers especially non US providers. Thats the problem that US centric analysts always have with WIMAX. They always view it based on what VZ and T do. Never Emerging Markets and Europe. ALVR has just announced deals in Italy and Spain. Sure doesn't sound dead. The whole continent of Africa is charging ahead. ALVR is the play.

good article. AVLR continues to be my preferred play b/c of the exposure to international markets. Just not convinced that Towerstream can ever be profitable in the competitive US market.

Yep. Being the one major player focused on Wimax has to helping them now. Some of the competition is gone and alot of the big players aren't as focused any more. ALVR is the best of breed.

agree that ALVR is a screaming buy below $4. As far as the market rolling over, I wouldn't bet on that b/c everybody expects it. I'm watching carefully, we're at a bunch of key technical levels so a move in either direction will be very telling.
Steve - could analysis. If anything, you use conservatice numbers. I don't see operating expenses increasing at the same rate of revenue. Its amazing though that ALVR is still on target for all of your assumptions and yet the stock price has been hammered. Thats one reason I don't spend a ton of time on DCF and such calculations. The market has a mind of its own, but will eventually end up where your forecast showed. This is also the likely purchase price if ole NT was to be very happy with the results of the partnership.
Care to share some of your numbers? How are you handling the dollars move? Agree on the PR issue, but I don't place as much credence into it. The analysts should be doing a better job. For example, ALVR has hammered home the point on the currency issue in the 1H08 yet just about every analyst wanted to focus on costs as if the issue was that ALVR wasn't controling costs. Sometimes it just doesn't seem matter want management says or does.
