How Yahoo Can Beat Google: Start By Conceding Search

I agree that Yahoo should give up on search -- and go back to distributing Google search. Remember, Google's search partners get a majority of the ad revenue, and sometimes get a guarantee, as well. Taking into account all Yahoo is spending on developing its proprietary search, I think the company would come out ahead just taking a cut from Google.

Yahoo could continue its work on search for social media and apply that to Flickr, del.ici.ous et al. It also could apply its own algorithms on top of the search tech it licensed from Google.
