  • BofA downgrades Walt Disney (DIS -2.6%) to a Neutral rating, from Buy, saying the sector has not yet priced-in a potential recession. The firm sets a new price target for DIS at $42, marking a 31% premium from the current share price.  [View news story]
I told you in my earlier article seekingalpha.com/artic...

My favourite short from the above listed stocks is Walt Disney Co. and I believe its stock price is likely to underperform going forward. Recently Walt Disney reported its third quarter earnings, which surpassed Wall Street expectations but the stock corrected due to uncertain outlook over consumer spending. We may likely be heading into another recession and Walt Disney will likely be among the first to get impacted as consumers curb trips to movie theatres and theme parks, or advertisers cut back spending. As of now, Walt Disney is not seeing any major pull back but things can turn pretty rapidly. Even before any actual EPS downgrade or earnings impact, multiples can contract further due to recessionary fears.

There clearly was an insider trading... Markets started going down and had already fallen below 200DMA even before it was officially announced. This happens a lot in financial world.

Its more a question of where US economy is headed. If you believe we are entering recession again then BAC cant avoid a lot of Mark to Market write-downs.

  • Bank of America: Rumors Provide Rare Opportunity [View article]
"BAC as recently as today has denied that they need new capital."
Do you trust them? Lehman cited a takeover offer as undervalued two days before their stock went to zero.

"If they needed new capital, the haircut wouldn't be at a 50% discount to its current tangible book value."
Depends on how you are calculating Tangible Book Value. If you trust management no.s you are likely wrong!!!

Now bulls like Appaloosa's David Tepper are also giving up... Here's why you should sell it. seekingalpha.com/artic...

  • BlackRock's Top 15 Sells [View article]
Armando, if you consider equal weight portfolio of these stocks, it has underperformed market by 340 bps if we take march 31 as an starting date. These stocks on an average have declined 6.90% vs S&P declining 3.50% since march 31 till date. I am not talking about the whole portfolio but these 15 are the biggest sell of blackrock implying highest conviction. 11 out of these 15 stocks have declined since March 31 after blackrock sold them.
