Interesting call on GTAT. Yeah, USO and UNG (especially UNG) are a little scary. Thanks for the links. Agree they would act better as tools for traders for short-term momentum plays than buy and hold investments.
Thanks vireoman. It looks like the div confusion is related to the recent merger with CEG and splitting up of the payouts. Combined, div comes out to .525, or a yield of 5.4%. So point well taken sid, thanks for pointing that out.
Used Morningstar for projected yield @ 3.9%.
Agree that there could be a more attractive entry point upcoming--and we advocate buying on dips--but the call here really is a diverse asset allocation that includes emerging market exposure as a material weighting in a balanced portfolio, market timing aside. We look to the relative outperformance of EM over the last fifteen years and emerging economies' still strong growth profiles as cause for advocating that base exposure.
Thanks for the suggestions on ELD, EBND. We tend to agree the dollar remains strong for the foreseeable future, though our long-term thesis still favors a weaker dollar.
