So, the figure we put out was 210B-220B.

    Sales were 170B in 2013. We are predicting 215B. That 215-170/170. Let's break that down ... 215 - 170 = 45 .... 45/170 = 25%

Not sure where you get 240%-340%. Given your attitude and general rudeness, perhaps it is you who shouldn't be allowed to be on sites like this?

I agree but one thing I think people aren't interested in is adding to a device outside of the device itself. That's why building functionality into the TV itself would be so much better. Its a winner but not as big as it coul be.

And what method of analysis do you use if not looking at what is coming and comparing it to what's priced in?

Of course...this is about a stock not about portfolio management. And as a portfolio manager, I like it long here.

Because they weren't prudent and took profits or because they had a short-term timeframe and were trading or because they bought at the high?

The new units 4,5,6 are the market share gainers...not the bastard step bros and sisters 4s, 5s

    Lake -

    A. Please write an article laying out your bear case. Its easy to sit here and comment...putting yourself out there is another thing entirely.

    B. List the stocks you are long and like...and reasons why. I'm curious to see what you think is good management, a good company, something that has good value and good upside. Please educate us!

Well did you make this comment as comment bait or not? (it worked)

Read the article and criticize how we get to the $750 price target. Its laid out much better than most others do in actually showing a breakdown of how revenue will come together for the year...you'll see its not just bait.

I think you mean iTV not Apple TV...Apple TV is already a product that sells for $100 and is releasing in March/April. iTV is the interactive TV that everyone has wanted.

Yes magically when they release a new iPhone, new iPad, new iMac, new iPod, and likely iWatch...so yes the back half is loaded with new products...thus market share will improve in back half.

Did you read a bear case where they lose market share and see margins drop?

And that would be in a positive way? How does that affect share price if it has a lot of fans...seems to not be helping.

  • Apple Headed To $700 In 2014, What's Next For The Market [View article]
Actually what we did was adjust the way we discounted the company. Usually we use a proprietary DCF analysis, and that just does not work for AAPL. The stock trades in a much different way, so we went a very basic route and estimated EPS for 2014 and multipled by current PE or a PE that we believe AAPL will maintain around 14-15.

That's why the estimate was lowered. In a DCF, we get $950...its just not possible. Therefore, we have to make an adjustment to fit within the walls of the market.
