  • The New American Airlines Is On [View article]
New market cap = current market cap of LCC/0.28 = $4.8bn/0.28 = $17bn at $24.6 share price of LCC. In other words, new market cap will change in tandem with LCC share price. Hope this helps.

I used to cover Asia X Jap telcos. Some suggestion here. You need to address two important issues, i.e. extremely value-destructive competitive landscape and Indosat's execution inconsistency.

I am not familiar with the Vanguard Health mutual fund. But if you are looking for a credible fund manager's long position on VRX, then you could check on Sequoia Fund. Hope it helps.

Thanks again. Certain customers do not allow MANH to disclose their names. Btw, does your neighbor have any thoughts on how the merger of RedPrairie with JDA will impact on MANH? Or maybe you some thoughts as well?

Thanks for the links, especially the journal paper. Yes, from my best understanding, in layman terms, though RISC is inherently the more power efficient instruction set architecture, Intel has managed to significantly improve the overall performance of its CISC-based chip via another factor, i.e. microarchitecture optimization. With INTC's huge resources, the performance gap is getting smaller and near negligible. The next factors which differentiate QCOM from the pack are the scale and deeper experiences it had gain with mobile devices due the head start it had and its understanding of the wireless communication technologies.

  • Dollar Tree: Steady But Great Return Potential [View article]
Selling more items will always be incremental to earnings, as long as gross margin is positive. However, 1 dollar sales growth will lead to less than 1 dollar earnings growth if the incremental sales is of lower margin than it is currently. While it is still good for the business, it is bad for investment as it will be a disappointment because market typically extrapolates in a straight line. More importantly, by not going into tobacco, it shows DLTR still has room to grow sales without compromising the gross margin.

  • Dollar Tree: Steady But Great Return Potential [View article]
Agree that as economy recovers, some consumers will trade up and discount store sector growth will slow down. Overall economy is still sluggish though. In any case, picking Dollar Tree over Dollar General and Family Dollar because believe its small number of store counts and strong merchandising skills will maintain the growth rate of Dollar Tree.
