I’ve put a lot of thought into planning my personal finances, and you can gain the benefit of my insights through my posts here and on www.thoughtsworththinking.net. Like just about every personal investor, I was shocked by the financial crisis that emerged in 2008, and I have found the impetuous and often contradictory opinions expressed by so-called professionals on markets and the economy to be largely unhelpful. I have come to the conclusion that many (but not all) of the professionals lack the objectivity and perspective to speak credibly about the future.
Having put about as much work as anyone of normal means could expect to do in planning their personal finances—as well as having a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics where I studied the relationship between politics and the world economy—I can offer a perspective that has value to the investment community, and especially to the personal investor. I don’t expect or recommend that anyone accept my opinion as sacrosanct, but as one of many perspectives that can add value to a studied investment decision. My goal in every article or opinion I offer is to provide something—whether a fact or argument—that you will not be able to find anywhere else, using the experience and research capabilities I bring to the table.
The information I provide on this web site does not constitute professional investment advice, and should only be used in consonance with all available information, including the opinion of a professional adviser, to make an investment decision.
