Individual, self-directed investor with over 20 years' experience, with a professional background in the healthcare field as a clinician, primarily focused in the clinical research trials process on several levels, and related consulting work. I use multiple strategies for long-term investing- capital appreciation, dividend growth, and income growth, while trading around positions. While I usually hold core positions, I enjoy using "Tactical Trading" and speculation around long-term holdings, and I employ macro, fundamental, technical, and sentiment trends and trend-advantaged buying and selling based in a combination of these inputs. I believe in both growth and value investing, and attempt to find both in individual equities. I invest in international stocks, keeping a 20-40% allocation. My success rate investing is approximately 80% winning investments. I try to recognize shorting opportunities but rarely use them, preferring to look for long term investments and solid trends within sectors, cycles, global trade, and new or fast-growing businesses. I also favor the mid-and-small cap spaces, although keeping a 30-60 shifting allocation model to anchor a portfolio with large and mega-cap companies. On Seeking Alpha: I find compelling analysis, wide coverage, and a wealth of ideas, and I admire both the SA team and platform, as well as the investing IQ of the readers. The comments section frequently generates great commentary and considerations that could take an individual years to discover on their own. My love of investing, business, the markets and economic/ macroeconomic trends has compelled me into becoming an SA contributor, and I will submit my best ideas, long, short, or any other approach. I also will include my own approach to any presented investing ideas and activity, as well as full disclosure to my past and current positions, profit or loss outcomes, and lessons I've learned from my successes and mistakes. My gratitude and Thanks goes to the SA staff, and most importantly, the valuable readers.

I have worked for both sell-side and buy-side firms (equities and fixed income), with the largest percentage of my working time spent in med-tech. At this point I am now effectively in a "working retirement".
I write because I find that the process helps me take better notes, be more disciplined about modeling, and come up with a more coherent investment view for my portfolio management needs. If I'm writing about a stock, it's generally because I'm interested in it as an investment prospect or I think there's an interesting story to tell.
I don't share my models, so please don't ask.

I've devised a series of steps that constitute a highly defined covered option strategy that most anyone can follow and that I've described in Option to Profit (2011).
Having retired from a career in Pediatric Dentistry, approximately 10 years ahead of schedule, after spending the previous 10 years working just 2 days each week, I now spend my time trading and alerting others of trading opportunities in large cap positions through the Option to Profit subscription service, a premium subscription service that provides actionable Trading Alerts via text messaging or e-mail at www.optiontoprofit.com. as well as a Web site access only subscription plan.
The Option to Profit subscription service is now in its 4th year.
Now, the Web Access subscription plan is available through Seeking Alpha's "Marketplace." A listing of those articles can be found at https://seekingalpha.com/account/research/subscribe?slug=george-acs
The subscription through Seeking Alpha also includes access to the full Option to Profit web mirror site at http://sa.optiontoprofit.com.
I want you to join me in making your stock portfolio improve the quality of your life. Whatever stage of life you are in, you can make your stocks improve that quality by putting them to work for you.

Institutional investment manager authoring on a variety of topics that pique my interest, and could further discourse in this online community. I hold an MBA from the University of Chicago, and have earned the CFA designation.
My articles may contain statements and projections that are forward-looking in nature, and therefore inherently subject to numerous risks, uncertainties and assumptions. While my articles focus on generating long-term risk-adjusted returns, investment decisions necessarily involve the risk of loss of principal. Individual investor circumstances vary significantly, and information gleaned from my articles should be applied to your own unique investment situation, objectives, risk tolerance, and investment horizon.

I am Seeking Alpha's CEO and Editor-in-Chief. My love for the stock markets goes back to when I was a kid. Who else remembers combing through the stock quotes at the back of the business section of your local paper?
I joined Seeking Alpha in 2006 and launched Wall Street Breakfast and Market Currents, our top-of-class short-form breaking news for investors. In 2010 I became editor-in-chief and in 2015 I became CEO.
I live in Jerusalem with my wife and a bunch of exceptional kids. Most days, you'll find me making the commute from Jerusalem to Raanana. Occasionally I get to work from my home-office, from where I keep an eye on the beautiful Judean Hills.

I am an individual investor with about 6 years investing experience. I believe there is inefficiency in the market and my investment thesis is to seek companies with good fundamentals but negative momentum. I have a full time job so I only focus my investment to about 5-10 stocks/ETFs.
I currently work at an asset management company focused on valuations for fixed income products. Previously I worked as a credit analyst in both rating agency and investment bank.
PropThink is an intelligence service that delivers long and short trading ideas to investors in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Our Editorial Team is comprised of individuals with a strong background in science, medicine and the business of successfully commercializing therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and healthcare services. Our ultimate objective is to leverage the knowledge, experience, and relationships of our contributors to introduce our subscribers to profitable long and short investment opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Successfully trading, and investing in emerging growth healthcare companies is a difficult task. Over 90% of drugs never make it out of the clinic. Huge capital requirements along the way result in highly dilutive equity financings often done on the backs of retail investors. At PropThink, we believe that due diligence is the key to success in this industry. We leverage a combined 50 years of experience in science, medicine, legal, regulatory affairs, finance, and operational industry experience to analyze companies at a highly technical level. This detailed analysis and due diligence process defines our editorial strategy and provides our subscribers a high level of confidence in our research. Our focus is on identifying and analyzing technically-complicated companies and equities that are grossly over or under-valued.
Visit PropThink.com to see all of our coverage and research, and subscribe to our free newsletter to receive reports, articles, and trading alerts.
36 year old part time investor and trader. I concentrate on finding inefficiencies in the market resulting from behavioral biases that distort the decision making of individual and institutional investors. I still consider myself to be a novice trader, as my experience spans a over a decade. I've beaten the market substantially over most of those years, but the mistakes I've made in that time have been rather expensive. I'm hoping that I can keep my mind open and learn from reading various viewpoints.
