  • Buy Apple's Current Dip To Ride Its Likely Rise To $800 [View article]
    @ibarkinthedark

Thank you for your kind comment about my “first” article. However, AAPL is my second article on SA as well as most likely the 102nd about stocks as a whole. So, which one do you mean?

The optimal range of the “current price dip” for AAPL stock purchases can be defined by applying one of the numerous well-known metrics developed by respected scientists. I appreciate and respect the calculation approach developed by one of talented scientists. Fortunately, he is also a member of SA and leads the top contributor team – Efsinvestment. You can find that approach description in EFS's articles. So, his calculations currently indicate that the fair value range for AAPL is between $966 and $1085. According EFS valuation, at a price of $667 Apple is trading at a substantial discount (i.e., 45% upside potential to reach its fair value).

I just wonder how people can be successful in investment decisions being boring with math...Interesting questions for me....

Mostly, math thinking can generate smart moves in the stock market....or people just use a meditation?

  • Seagate Primed For A Strong Rebound [View article]
Well, a debt/equity ratio of 0.8 does not look very prudent for a technology sector, especially the HDD storage industry whose future seems entirely unpredictable with the impasse of SSDs present at the moment.
Tangible rate is not available, we can only estimate. As long as debt remains consistent along with earnings, it is okay. But the company's earnings seem more risky today than they were before. This is because of competition as well as technological shift from its primary product which was HDD production.

When the price was $9, I believe there was no need to write a paper to figure out that Seagate was a good bet.

  • How Much Is Philip Morris Worth? [View article]
As facts prove, a successful investor is an experienced investor. However, there are numerous investors-beginners who have no time to suffer all stones in the investment path to become finally a successful and smart investor.
In addition, many investors believe that they go with strong companies with rising dividends and wide moats. No investors invest their money in the company with poor prospects. However, many of them become once to be surprised when they lost all their money or earn nothing after all.
As free of pay advisor, the "formula" papers truly help people to avoid most of that possible difficulties and make up right mind on investment options.

Re: "Upcoming quarterly dividends are expected to increase by 10% to $0.85 per share in Q4 2012." They announced a dividend increast TWO WEEKS AGO! Where was the author?
    ______________________...
This ironic note above makes me think that outside of binary's window is Q4 2012 already. Outside of my window is still Q3 2012 as well as the author's window at least. And seemly investors still expect to get increased dividend amount of $0.85 per share in upcoming Q4 2012. I think the author's statement is pretty fair and no sense to discuss that.

  • Coca-Cola: The Correction Has Just Begun [View article]
"Just like the business teacher that can tell you how to become a millionaire, but of course is not one himself."

Well, there is pretty common fact that most of prominent scientists are not millionaires as they truly deserve to be. Existence of strong skills doesn't mean an availability of a tight purse, and vise versa. In fact, they feel themselves quiet rich even without plenty of money as well as they are happy under Moon!

"Charts and graphs, projections, moving averages, secret formulas are all simply a distraction."

This phrase has reminded me one wise expression: "My unwritten is better than your written."

Thanks for a good article. It provide a lot of interesting data that are pretty valuable for decision making.

  • Is Petrobras The Right Stock For Your Portfolio? [View article]
    Percent of what?
Well, LNG world news informed: ''...If combined with the output from fields that produce gas only, this figure reaches the high mark of 92%, the Company's total gas production record. This is the best result Petrobras has achieved since 2004, when the use of gas associated with oil amounted to 87.8%, and is the result of efforts made, for the most part, under the Programa de Otimização do Aproveitamento de Gás 2015 (POAG-2015, the 2015 Gas Use Optimization Program), which was launched in the first quarter of 2010. The program has the objective of increasing the Company's Associated Gas Use Index in Brazil to 95% in 2015, up from 79.1% in 2009."
So it is easy to get to know, the author had a mean the Company's Associated Gas Use Index in Brazil.

That said phrase : "...the biggest reason for the slide in PBR's stock price ... is the new petroleum law in Brazil' sounds like a decision considered superficially. New laws placed PBR under state control were passed in mid-2010. However, if we check PRB's price trend in a 5-year retrospective, we will find out its downturn since mid-2008. Moreover, the price falls happened twice, mid-2008 and yearly 2010. No laws those days. Obviously, the factors, negatively influenced PBR's stock prices, existed before and after a new legislation. In mid-2010, the company's stock price trend did not change much to make us consider its largest negative impact on stock quotes. That`s why, on my opinion, to consider new laws the biggest reason for the slide in PBR's stock price seems not well-founded assumption.
    ----------------------...
I am grateful to the author of this nice article, because it helped me to update information about PBR, the company I've been monitoring since the recent time.
