    Apple is indeed worth as much as Google, Microsoft and Wal-Mart combined. There was a time when Xerox was 5 times larger than Apple, this is not to suggest that the trend will continue in the future. This article is not about the present. Ironic as it may be, Im sure the present can be 'googled'. However, investors need analysis for the future and my analysis of google's action plan is waterproof.

    So before you go out on a limb and tell people 'in your dreams', perhaps you should read the entire article first. Google is indeed losing its advertising revenue due to Apple's marginalization policy, but you have to be naive to accept that a giant like Google will sit firmly in its chair and not utilize the opportunity to hurt Apple back. And what better option is there to it than to roll out a directly competing product to Apple's iphone or ipad?

    Google has not been directly in battle with Apple. If it was, then the $1 billion charge would be against Google, not Samsung.

    Perhaps its would be wise to not misguide readers by putting in partial facts and a colored fiction.

    I think you missed the point. Even though all the above mentioned companies manufacture hardware, their software is either half-baked e.g. bada and symbian or it is not optimized for the hardware e.g. Android 4.1 on quad core specs providing lesser performance than a 1ghz dual core processor on iPhone 5. My point being, it pays to develop inhouse software and hardware. This is further underlined by Apple as it makes hardware and software for its products i.e. the distinguishing factor.

    Sales of a product earn you money, not hardware or software. As shown by Androids which run on LG, HTC, Samsung or Nokias which run Windows Mobile. It is a business model which supports income growth and if you contest this business model then perhaps Apple's empire is a farce.

    @ DonRight

    Thank you for your king comment and reading my articles. Now, I am being in a deep research of so hot today topic - who - Google of Facebook - will win the competitor battle in 2013? Some people make bets on FB, others - on Google. They use a plenty of facts and numbers to prove their rightwards. However, l would like to analyze deeply as well objectively their own financial and non-financial background that fuel their power to become a leader in that battle. Hopefully, soon you will get my independent verdict.

    Interesting opinion, thanks!
    I agree with your sentiment, but a lot of people are deeply in love with riding the "investment roller-coaster." They buy stock being in the bottom (before start to ride up) and sell it in the top high (before start to ride down). And putting such large amount of money on the line is acceptable for them. Providing great margins! They don't care what stock - AAPL or KO, yet strive to catch a right moment for great buy-sell bet!

    Thank you, MoeGiguere, for your kind comment! To follow AAPL is a good deal, but to follow only AAPL sounds probably not so reasonable. I believe my articles will help you find strong and profitable stocks which deserve to be in your possession.

    @ibarkinthedark

    Thank you for your kind comment about my “first” article. However, AAPL is my second article on SA as well as most likely the 102nd about stocks as a whole. So, which one do you mean?

    The optimal range of the “current price dip” for AAPL stock purchases can be defined by applying one of the numerous well-known metrics developed by respected scientists. I appreciate and respect the calculation approach developed by one of talented scientists. Fortunately, he is also a member of SA and leads the top contributor team – Efsinvestment. You can find that approach description in EFS's articles. So, his calculations currently indicate that the fair value range for AAPL is between $966 and $1085. According EFS valuation, at a price of $667 Apple is trading at a substantial discount (i.e., 45% upside potential to reach its fair value).

    I just wonder how people can be successful in investment decisions being boring with math...Interesting questions for me....

    Mostly, math thinking can generate smart moves in the stock market....or people just use a meditation?
