  • Why I Believe It's Time to Sell Armour Residential [View article]
Patrick, I have to disagree 100%. Why would an investor - if given 1-agency MREIT to own - buy ARR vs. HTS/NLY (minus CIM exposure)/AGNC/ANH/CMO?

I don't write positive articles if I see risk. Sorry - but if you want 100% positive articles, I'm the wrong person. I tell the truth as I see it. I can't write a Moby Dick in an article.

Good luck with your ARR. This sector is pretty basic and plain vanilla. Winners are winners and losers are losers.

I gave my rationale. May the best person win. :)

  • Why I Believe It's Time to Sell Armour Residential [View article]
Hi Matthew, I encourage investors to own whatever floats their boat. :) I only highlight my concerns.

How can a MREIT pay a monthly dividend? MREITs only know their quarterly book value and quarterly earnings until after the close of a quarter.

I want nothing more than ARR to make people money. I personally just have to use caution.

I personally would advise selling ARR (assuming you own 1-MREIT) and buy into NLY, AGNC, ANH, MFA, HTS -- would be my advise to my mother. No need to take any chances here in this space. Corvettekid is pretty sharp too, so take a look at his replies.

corvettekid, I always appreciate your insights. ARR doesn't possess the risk of non-agency paper in the same vein as other names. I just want to enter when I feel comfortable. My comfort-zone isn't there yet. For me, I'll be watching the book value and secondary offerings.

We are all after the same goal: high dividends and capital appreciation. Thanks for your insights.

  • Risk or Reward: What's Behind Yellow Media's 17% Dividend Yield [View article]
Hi arymar, I hope I helped a few folks.

My experience has been shareholder lawsuits benefit attorneys, and not shareholders.

I don't know anyone who owns the stock anymore, so I don't have any opinion. I believe shareholders will continue to blame short-sellers, conspiracy A or conspiracy B.

The dividend is likely to be cut. The business model is broken. A business model based upon a monopoly works when the monopoly is in place. Technology removed Yellow Media's monopoly.

What's done is done. Lick your wounds and let's find a winning stock to make up for the losses. :)

I sincerely appreciate your kind comments.

    Best, Todd

notmybusiness - yes, the 1.25% on the newly issued shares will add up as well.

I am hesitant about MTGE's business model, but will need to look at the SEC filings to find out more. Do you have thoughts on MTGE? Good, bad, indifferent?

Patrick, does the fact the ARR CFO failed at a prior agency-MREIT by taking on non-agency paper concern you? Should a person buy because they believe the CFO won't do that again? Track records count for something in my view.

rip2451, since you ask - here is an article I did today with AGNC's book value and looking back. You will see AGNC book value appreciation vs. ARR's track record. Numbers don't lie.

It's a stock market. If you believe ARR management is doing good for you, then that's great. ARR management is tainted; secondary was diluted; management previously took on non-agency paper and the stock is now a penny stock. That doesn't give me confidence.

Harry, nobody knows ARR book value in terms of SEC filings - which is all that matters. We will have to wait until the June 30 quarter ends and the company updates the book value per share.

    The ARR book value decreased, between 12.31.09 - 12.31.10, $9.33 to $6.61.

Here is a link to AGNC's book value change: seekingalpha.com/artic.... The company chose to buy non-agency bonds instead of its chosen agency bonds. Now BMNM.ob is a penny stock, and Mr. Zimmer offers a new agency-MREIT.

Mr. Zimmer is causing shareholder losses, vs. shareholder gains.

If the above doesn't state the concerns clear enough, I can only advising reading the BMNM.ob 10Q's from 2004 - 2008.
