Google and the Analysts: Ignore Price Targets [View article]
scott,
i never predict prices..and if I buy something, i am looking years out. the banks alter their opinion almost quarterly and investing on their calls is just a bad idea
how can you tell someone to "buy" something and at the same time lower the 12 month price target $100?
i was not going to be a seller before earnings came out. that being said, there are always "other trades" one could have done and lamenting that serves no purpose...
Stock Money Flows and Notable Dividend Increases [View article]
Mr. Hampson...
perhaps in your zest to criticize rather than contribute you missed the notable dividend "increases" , not "yield" in the title? Had you owned CAT for then past decade a 20% increase would be a "notable" event.. no?
I am not suggesting Google's reign is over, just that those who reign do so for a shorter time frame today.
Stock for purchases. Yes they did say this but I believe it was in response to shareholder complaints about the dilution vs the cash they have available. Remember there are 60% more shares out there than 3 years ago. A huge #

I believe AT&T has done great and I have said countless times i thought they would be (and are) the real winner here.
I also have said rimm benefits huge because they sell $99 smart phones..
as for motorola, i have never had a comment on them (or nokia or Lg or any other handset maker other than apple and rimm.)

i try to never buy options. to be a consistent winner in them, be a seller. that being said, the trade i made is just about $$ in the bank

you miss the point...
it is not an "either or". had they not played hard ball, they could have had both..
$120 X 400,000 (and growing) phones equals an additional $48 million a year.

What Does Verizon Have In The Wings? [View article]

what have have said since before the phone was release was that it was way overpriced, Apple's recent actions prove me correct
