I am a retiree with a portfolio of dividend paying shares plus a small amount in bonds with various maturities. Mainly I prefer to invest in companies with low P/E ratios, above average dividend yields, solid balance sheets, and managements of good character. Occassionally I'll take a flyer on an undervalued stock but on the whole I prefer the steady and reliable.
Entire thirty-five year career has been in the real estate industry. My diverse experience was in land, office, retail and residential properties including development, sales, investments and appraisal. My interest now is applying this knowledge and experience to the public real estate market. Returns in the public real estate market compare favorably to actual direct property investment and most importantly your public investment is liquid. All REITS, Homebuilders, Land Companies, Timber and Paper Companies, and all companies with substantial unrecognized real estate values are my focus.
