  • Samsung extends smartphone crown [View news story]
The beginning of the end for Apple and the continuation of Samsung and Android's growing strength.

Honda made $6.5 billion dollars last year selling low priced cars that the market wants and needs. Ferrari made $328 million dollars last year selling high priced premium vehicles. The comparison is the same, in a simplistic sense. Go Samsung/Google!

  • It May Be Apple Harvest Time [View article]
    Agreed, Great Article Michael!

I think the "willpower" of Apple's brand was under-estimated with regard to the iPhone 5S and 5C, they were phenomenal sellers.

Although, when you can offer products with comparable or better components for a cheaper price, it is only a matter of time until "everyone who isn' apple" (samsung, msft, android world), starts to gain the attention of the buyers.

Apple has a very, very strong brand with amazing products (commenting from a mac). Let's hope they use this to their advantage and don't go the way of BBRY! (very unlikely on that scale, but market share erosion is possible)

You are definitely brave to short Apple regardless! I have no position here.

  • BlackBerry: Strong Buy On Buyout Collapse [View article]
Two years from now we are going to wonder why we all got torn up into the headlines. I am glad I didn't buy at $8 waiting for the $9 buyout to just earn the difference - as shown by BBRY there is considerable risk there.

After writing articles myself on BBRY I may also be taking a long position soon in the company - still thinking the idea over. Going to see how the stock reacts moving forward and what happens to the company at that time!

BlackBerry may be overvalued the same reason that Amazon is overvalued - the market wants clarity, growth and execution. Although that does provide opportunities (possibly BBRY) when they overdo it in each direction

Great write up, thanks for the article

  • Is VirnetX The Nail Samsung Needs To Hammer Apple? [View article]
Apple backtracking on VirnetX's technology proves that it is the superior tech. If they wanted to they would have implemented relay servers from the beginning, which they haven't.

Oh and the 500,000 user complaints is a Fact, not an assumption

  • Another Reason Why You Should Be Invested In VirnetX [View article]
Regarding my overview, I state that they are key to securing the next wave of wireless networks. My roll out dates are correct and the quote from Kendall Larson about the significance of secure domain names is real. Second my number of devices I lost are facts from two sources Cisco and VirnetX, as well as my spice regarding the number of Internet domain names. Third my point that the president was going to make a statement on cyber security was true since his state of the union was the week after (the date published) and the significance of why the government has to secure those vital parts of America's infrastructure are included in the governments cyberspace policy review. That review can be found here
Moreover the stance Kendall took in response to the cyber security act may be older, but he said it and it is his view and I can not find a view that changes that viewpoint he made.

Not all devices will need a secure domain name only those that are part of the next generation network. Since the 3GPP release 10 standards require it. Moreover I said Internet domain names will "likely" want to transition over to secured ones.

Lastly the section titled how VirnetX will profit uses the best way they can profit from the initiative. Also it includes the exact same projections as stated in the white paper.

VirnetX is a technical investment I don't know every aspect, the point is to share, expand and learn.

    All the best,

  • VirnetX: Do You Believe In Fairytales? Part 1 [View article]
The last week is what you guys were asking about. The ITC case is very confusing. First off, VHC can't get any money from the ITC, they just wanted to ban importation and have a cease and detest order for the infringing products. Although the litigation was waiting on the ITC to rule on Virnetx's 181 patent which was "stayed", (not able to be used in litigation until the ITC ruled on the case).

The ITC had a NON-FINAL ruling to dismiss the case because SAIC was not a party, and it would be too late to add them as a party because apple wouldn't have enough time to do discovery on SAIC.
The things to point out here is even though VHC got most of their patents from the SAIC, the 181 patent is 100% virnetx's! To bar importation and to have a cease and detest order of apple's infringing products do go back to VHC's main patents though, where they mostly got from SAIC.

My main guess is the ITC case is not over, or it simply has to be refiled, no big deal. Judge davis probably saw Apple's tactics in the ITC and is even more mad they are playing games since they played games in his courtroom and he shot them down!

If it is over, they may issue a partial judgement so the 181 patent can either be used in litigation or not, even though its not a main patent it still is more money. If not the ITC case can be refiled, and apple can pay for infringement on the 181 after the ITC case.

Some people were saying without the ITC case it is less pressure on apple, I don't think it really makes a difference other than the 181 patent, also its a NON-FINAL judgement so we don't know what the details are. Who cares if the iPhones are getting imported, its more products they have to pay a license on in my opinion and dosent affect the litigation. We are after settlements here, and then licensing., the court date is still November 5th, 2012 with jury selection.

VHC has a high beta of 2.89, so if the market is down 1%, vhc is most likely going to be down 2.89%. So if the markets down, who cares it goes up and down!

Gaps also have to be filled, If you jump up a flight of steps you have to come back and walk up them. We haven't had any real bad days since before the astra settlement 3 months ago, so this is an opportunity for shorts to make some money and cover, even though we longs will prosper overall.

These down days are a mix of 4 things in my opinion ( confusion over the ITC even though its not that bad, a down market, gaps getting filled, and shorts taking advantage since there hasn't been many down days), let the shorts take advantage, that much faster it will shoot back up withe even more support.

An example of a gap getting filled is like on june 28th to july 3, 2012, VHC went from 34.73 to 38.20, which is an amazing run up in 6 days.. but then afterwards it fell to 35.87 on july 11th before continuing the run up. It goes back down so GAPS are filled, in technical analysis language there are specific support levels and gaps which are important, and over the last week the gaps have been OVERfilled because the market has been down with VHC's high beta moving it down, and because of the ITC confusion.

VHC is volatile, gaps are not filled like a walk in the park they are always overshot to the upside and the downside.

DONT get caught up in the MM and hedge funds and Wall Street's games that they kill the stock so YOU get out and they buy YOUR shares and profit when it goes up. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, VHC is extremely well-poistioned. If you get nervous, read Floyd's report and it will totally change your outlook.

Just look at NTP today in the news, they settled with 13 companies for infringing not their wireless EMAIL patents, and they settled with RIMM for 612.5 million a few years ago. Thats on EMAIL!!!! Virnetx owns the patents for secure 4g communication and there is NO way around using their patents. Read Floyd's report if you want the technical explanation on why VHC's patents are not only needed, but their is NO way around them.

They have the strongest patent portfolio, they own the patents to secure 4g communication and provide secure domain services. Don't get caught in wall street's CRIMINAL activity of killing the stock just so they can get in long at CHEAP prices.

    Go VHC
