    • Tom Shaughnessy: Thanks SFinance, I have written on the topic before, looking for something new for blue! (h2O)
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: I own $CWCO & $WTR, like $FLS, will probably like $XYL at some point but not any time soon and wouldn't touch $VE with somebody else's money
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: Don't feel strongly enough about others to comment. It's important that they're all very different so depends how one defines the theme.
      10/28/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Exactly, XYL is too high for me PPS. If it came down I would jump in (the water). Looking for smaller water-tech companies.
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: I actually don't think $XYL is particularly high. Just need to get their act together. Will be a great long-term story once it's run right.
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: Seems $CWCO & $NWPX are the only ones that fit that description of smaller, though I'm not sure I'd consider either one water tech.
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: Most of the water tech usually comes from huge players (GE, etc.) where that alone isn't enough to move the needle.
      10/28/13
    • DAG Investments: I've written about $CWCO and will probably write about $WTR, $FLS and $XYL at some point.

    • 96815234: Nice call on $SBS. Wish I saw earlier.
      10/28/13
    • D'ster: $NWPX, shedding it oil pipe segment. focussing on water. partnered with Lucid Energy for in Pipe generation http://bit.ly/18wmZna

    • Tom Shaughnessy: Thanks @Buffet I had a good run with $SBS - Still staying the course!
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: @DAG1996, Very true, I read the Siemens water unit makes the water so pure for the chips that it can really make you sick if you drink it
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Since it absorbs all of the nutrients in your body and flushes them through
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Ive read 2-3 books on the topic, still looking for water tech or XYL cheap etc..
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: 83% of the water is used for irrigation worldwide, and 45% of the agr water is lost during transmission to the farms alone... $VMI $NWPX
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: $NWPX had a huge run though...
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: $CCC I did like at $14 a while ago, but their Debt/equity is really high and so is their p/b. Inconsistent earnings miss/beats...
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: $HYFXY $HYFXF going to give them a look. Was also looking at Organo corp, but they are shady and i cant even find a ticker
      10/29/13
    • DAG Investments: as you know, there are lots of ways to define/play a broad water theme. personally, i like desalination, infrastructure and smart utilities.
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Very true, you cant go wrong with infrastructure, isn't it close to a trillion in US replacements needed over the next twenty years?
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: 25 years! http://huff.to/HncE7c
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: $XYL reports before the bell. Last quarter was bad. Share price a little high? http://bit.ly/HpPSfd
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: @DAG we talked about $XYL on my article - bad call on my part, still thing there overvalued here though http://seekingalpha.com/a/zaio
      10/29/13
    • DAG Investments: yes. hard to place much value on decades numbers though. the number probably goes up, but doubt we'll actually spend what's needed.
      10/29/13
    • DAG Investments: last time i ran numbers on XYL, it looked pretty much fairly valued. that's been a while and i'm not really paying any attention to it now.
      10/29/13
    • DAG Investments: i won't take a serious interest in $XYL til i'm confident they've fully worked out the leadership issues which will take me at least a year.
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Agreed, very good call Dag. Hoping for a downturn PPS and the drive to change MGMT - then I would be more inclined as well!
      10/29/13
    • DAG Investments: thanks. just saw the comment about our conversation on your article. good call on $SBS tho. none of us win 'em all.
      10/29/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Anytime! Very true, win some lose some!
      10/29/13
    • earthtodan: Would PIO do the trick?
      10/30/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Its very good! Expense ratio is high though
      10/30/13
    • Goose Hollow Investments: LNN is similar to VMI, but it's business is more focused on water/irrigation than VMI's is.
      11/13/13
    • Tom Shaughnessy: Very True, $CWCO got cheaper, although I would wait for a better entry point
