The author completely misses one main point - what will China do in the future? The US desperately needs China to continue purchasing the massive amount of Treasuries we will be selling.

Most likely going forward, China will purchase much less US Treasuries and purchase real assets. China has already begun that process and is buying oil, metals,food,etc.
