  • Closing BB&T because of Monolithic Trading [View article]

    The herd trading is killing someone like me who loves individual stocks. It is all just about asset allocation every day now.

    To the others,
    I like BB&T relative to a lot of banks. I can't argue with a chart like that in a market like this where fundamentals mean nothing and charts are everything. With the stock already back in the $27s within a day I feel ok with what I did. Again I tried to outline in the first sentence this has nothing to do with BB&T; just a portfolio move. I was able to catch a "herd" trade in financials and now unless the market builds a longer term wave up, reality is potentially going to re-emerge - see JP Morgan's comments late today.

    p.s. loved the BBT CEO comments earlier this year about all the idioticy from the NY banks. Too bad all of us will suffer from it.
