  • Philip Morris: More Insider Buys [View article]
Altria, the parent almost always had loads of debt and ended up being the best performer. Sure, past might not get repeated this time with PM as well but as long as the divis and buybacks continue, we should be okay as investors. But you are right, eventually they gotta reduce the debt..

All transactions add up to $1.6 million still. might be minuscule to him but not many well known companies have even this much of consistent buying

Thanks for the comment, Joe - really liked your article with extensive research. But some times these small signals like insider buys can be useful as well..

Its fine if we disagree though, that's what makes the market interesting.. Cheers!

Kraft has been disappointing in a lot of ways as an investment. doesn't seem to have the "Altria/PM" gene in it anymore

Sure, one should not be looking at PE alone but its not to be ignored either..

See that you are a Netflix bull based on your comments in other article as well :) Talks about the subscriber count is a grey area - its like Facebook sounding the horns about their user base.. How do all those numbers translate into the $ ultimately is the big Q.

But to just slap a statement like "your are wrong in every way" is not being open for a conversation..

Netflix content dependency on others is gonna be a headache as well.. And the article did not claim Amzn is better than Nflx in anyways (though we understand your point was about "people claiming")

Sheep - Yup, no company seems safe but if they raise divis fast and come down to a PE in 20s, might be a decent buy..

Seriously, Apple, Sbux are in a league of their own when it comes to "coolness" but yes the growth will slow down eventually, that is where the international expansion is both their plus and minus - if it takes off great, if not, disappointment

He used PEG for growth stocks and believe it or not, by that metric Netflix appears cheap right now. So going by that method of his, who knows he might have pulled the trigger :) But your point is right that he would have stayed out of them at their peaks for sure..

Interesting article but wonder why stick with a company that has not made a profit in 22 years :)

    sheep :) 12/21/2012 beckons..

On a serious note, it is going to be a bumpy ride for every stock, not just Sbux.. 2009 was mentioned in the other article just to give an idea that the cash has grown steadily (obviously since business picked up).

2009 was mentioned in the comment above to state that it was not just Sbux that got bummed, the entire market did

However, disagreeing is all good, the market needs different players.. not being entirely bullish on Sbux, as the conclusion says its gonna be a wild ride and when things start looking up again, its these leaders who run up
