Seeking alpha has been one of the "go-to" sites for the investors in our family. We would like to strike a perfect balance between short term trading and long term investing, hence the name "Tradevestor".Good luck investing. In the interest of full disclosure, this is a group account handled by Father and Son. The Father was a trader for quite a few years years with mixed returns, while the son started out a few years ago with DGI and has slowly convinced the Patriarch towards investing rather than trading. Semi-Retired, new at active investing, seeking knowledge on best ways to invest my 401K and IRA investments, from passive mutual funds to dividend growth investments. Seeking income in the next few years through solid yield dividends while still securing and hopefully appreciating capital. Looking to add some more dividend aristocrats to the mix since they will help pay the bills in a few years to come.

I am a 51 year-old Pennsylvania resident who took early retirement at the end of 1997; Initially due to a work related injury, but soon after made it permanent after discovering that my many years of diligently putting away every free dollar earned and through making good buy and hold purchases of high dividend / interest paying common stocks and fixed income securities, I was able to do so and live comfortably. However, in May of 2015, I got a bit bored with gardening and leaf raking (lol) and made the decision to get back into the "paycheck receiving" workplace.
