  • Trading Google Options on Goldman's Upgrade [View article]
Great article. I too think GOOG still has potential. Wave and Chrome OS have a lot of potential. GOOG is still fresh and exciting.

  • The Implications of Russia's Declining U.S. Debt Purchases [View article]
Excellent article thank you. Russia buying of treasuries is an issue but a drop in the ocean compared to China, Japan and the Gulf / Saudi states isn't it?

  • Tech Stocks Rally [View article]
Maybe, even with today's recessionary challenges tech offers the path of least resistance. Certainly it ticks more boxes than banks, airlines, consumer stock and possibly energy firms.

(INFY) Infosys is a good example. Profits up 17% on more US firms outsourcing support to Infosys offices in India.

Which leads me to conclude that what is good for the sector and Nasdaq, is not necessarily good for Main St.

Also, the headline 25% gain looks great but the sector was oversold in March so it's probably still at most at fair value. Not expensive, though a short term pull back is possible on the RSI.

  • Earnings on Deck - Three Companies That Look the Best [View article]
Freerange, I empathise with some of your views but I do believe that it is useful to look at issues like instrinsic and economic value. It may not tell us where the stock will be next week or even in 3 months - market wide risk appetite is more key over short term horizons - but if you as an investor are keen to pay fair value at most for a stock then this excellent articel and others like it will help you.

If you just want to chase the market trend then of course there are other methods that would suit you better.
