My name is Troy and I am a journalist that follows the stock market and occasionally invests on value stocks, those that I consider well below the company's "sticker-price." I have a Master's in Business Administration from Florida Institute of Technology (FIT). I work as a Cost Analyst for the Department of Defense, essentially costing out multi-million dollar projects and determining Return on Investment
I was a fund manager of European Equities for 10 years at Newton Investment Management in London. I recently founded StockViews.com, a social network that connects investors with analysts and encourages debate around individual stocks. I still keep my hand in the market and contribute both to StockViews and to Seeking Alpha. I also dedicate a large amount of my time to educating investors through StockViews Campus and via a mentorship program for university students. In the fall I will be touring a number of US universities to deliver a series of seminars on investing. You can find out more about me via my blog: http://blog.stockviews.com
Ted Waller is a private investor who bought his first stock at age 13 (GTE) and has over 50 years of investing experience. His focus is on deep value and low risk. Acquiring wealth is a slow incremental process that requires setting goals, adherence to principles, patience, and flexibility.
I am a very infrequent investor, I mostly stick to what I know and prefer long-term strategies. I have bachelors in Mathematics, Economics and History from Arizona State University and currently work as a graduate research assistant for the Center for Environmental Economics and Sustainability Policy.
I believe wholeheartedly in telling stories that allow an audience to have a new experience. I learn more and more about people and the world daily and use my professional work as an avenue to put this knowledge to use helping others and engaging in discussions that promote progress. A writer at the core, I have extensive experience in communications and financial journalism for the life sciences. I am seeking to follow promising healthcare companies with cutting edge technology that could quite significantly change the world. I have no positions in any stocks.
My interest in stocks started when I was in my early teens. My father purchased for my brother and I 100 shares in Disney Studios. He presented us each with the original stock certificate which I still have to this day hanging on my wall. My father charted stocks for a living and taught me everything I know today. I went on to University where I received a masters degree in Sociology and in Economics. I continue to trade weekly and follow in my fathers footsteps to making it my full-time job. I seek out companies I think will make me a profit in the long term. I am fan of social media as I think the "Born Social" generation will bring huge growth and huge profits for those who are invested.
