William Fairbanks has been an active investor for thirty years. After graduating from Furman University with a BA in Business with an emphasis in finance in 1973 and while working on his MBA he became a affiliated with Merrill Lynch. While there he helped to develop the institutional use of options as well as becoming an active options trader. After a number of years there he moved to a large regional firm where in addition to options he traded extensively in the bond market as well as managing private equity accounts. He subsequently helped form and was a principal in a new broker dealer that specialized in oil and real estate syndications as well as equity and options trading.
