  • ProShares Launches Inverse Treasury ETF [View article]
Although inverse ETFs have difficulty representing the theoretical NAV, they are attractive for capital gains avoidance for long term short plays.

  • Citadel Set to Control 97.5% of E*Trade's Order Flow [View article]
Front running is nothing new at Etrade. They paid $34M in settlements earlier this year after SEC charged them with front running 1999 - 2005 (www.reuters.com/articl...). Given SEC's 4-10 year lag time to bring about charges since crime is first detected, 2009 front running might not come to surface long after the casino bandits have made off with the loot.

  • Google, Apple on 9-Day Winning Streaks [View article]
I believe rise in AAPL in recent weeks have been driven by the following:
    1) Rise of general market including QQQQ which is up ~10%
    2) Media hype/ PR pumping prior to annual Apple party WWDC on day 10, 6/8/2009
    3) Expectation of Steve Jobs returning in June/July

Investor excitement sure beats fundamentals these days, but we could very well have a "sell on the news" day early next week.

  • Emerging Market Equities Now Far More Interesting than U.S. Market [View article]
If you want a true comparison of the markets, start the comparison from the common turning point back in October 2007 instead of using Yahoo's default 1 year range. You will see that S&P500 still leads by ~15% over Shanghai index.

In regards to quality of students and workers, an average Chindian might fare better against an average American, but the truely exceptional world class talents are in America and they will be the ones creating real wealth in terms of technological innovation. Strong work ethic is no match for raw brain power driven by real passion with appetite for risk taking.

  • The Trust Funds: Social Security, Medicare Battered by Recession [View article]
Can you tell me how young Americans could have saved in the recent years when college student debt (2nd largest "purchase" in an person's life) AND housing prices/rents (largest expense in an average person's life) both far outpaced any increases in real wages for educated young professionals?

  • The Trust Funds: Social Security, Medicare Battered by Recession [View article]
It is of common knowledge and acceptance amongst younger generation of Americans that social security and medicare will be worthless by the time they retire 30-50 years from now. What is not known is will 401Ks and IRAs follow the same path where government changes the rules so that they can raid it to pay for fiscal disasters created by previous generations. Thanks boomers!

  • Where Will New Money Flow? [View article]
Money will flow straight into the pockets of Goldman Sachs directors and executives. Our only hope is that hyperinflation would render their golden parachutes worthless versus real wealth that they wish they had received real golden parachutes instead of one full of TARP dollars.

Please... Soros is not to blame. The real enemies are (and were for some) the corrupt ones in position of real power. Don't tell me you like Paulson more than Soros.

  • Is George Soros a Contrary Indicator? [View article]
Soros nor Buffet can call better shot than you and I when the government changes the rules in the middle of the game to suit their secret desires: pump up the markets, so that stressed financials can raise more reserves by selling inflated stock. As the government's secret mission is played out, insiders like ex-NY Fed Stephen Friedman cashes in for a personal benefit at the cost of the innocent on the other side of the bet.

  • Gold and Economic Freedom: Reinterpreted for the 21st Century [View article]
"Under our current monetary system, there is no means to call the bluff of Central Bankers by using other forms of fiat money. The only way to call the Central Bank’s bluff is to buy gold and silver."

That's why China is secretly accumulating commodities including gold. But even gold and silver is controlled (price manipulated) by the central bankers as they are the largest holders.

You mean we could have just used Soros to use bribes and NGOs to get Iraqi crude contracts instead of billions of dollars in war funding to brute force our way in?

  • What Is the Real Unemployment Number? [View article]
Perhaps the real question we should be asking our Congress should be:

"Why is the government HIDING the real unemployment number?"

What is there to hide? What is the impact government is afraid of if the real unemployment numbers were public? Is this the same government which let's banks hide the real values of MBS via mark-to-whatever accounting?
