iPhone: The Future of Social Networking?

It's hard to imagine that a social networking experience will evolve exclusively on the iPhone, only because there is not enough saturation of the iPhone to find people who also have an iPhone and connected interest. At least this won't happen organically.

I can see it happening within an organization. Where a company, school, or other organization, injects the iPhone into their daily workflow. Abeline Christian University is researching this very thing, where the iPhone will be distributed to every incoming freshman and integrated into their registration process, class schedule, and even classes. The video is spectacular, the vision is incredible, yet believable. I hope they pull it off and set a precedent for other schools, companies and eventually the general public. Of course, as I said before, this would be predicated on general public saturation, before it become viable.
